Easily the most positive thing you've ever said about an American. :p

I'm glad that Karby got a new club especially Burnley, the "Liverpool FA Cup Slayers" and thus the best club in UEFA. ;)

    GO HOKIES!

(For those who don't know what a Hokie is, its Virginia Tech's mascot.)

All I can say is, pffffffffffft to Tech. Maybe I'm biased because everyone I knew went there and after visiting I realized why I was glad I wasn't a sheep like them.

It still suprises me that when ArseAm went over there we ended up singing a song for Danny K at the reserve game in that he was from WVA. Kinda felt dumb afterwards when he told us that he's not from WVA.

Maybe in VA (though the threshold isn't all that high) but NC State rules the ACC! Hahahahahaha!! :D

I didn't go to school in VA at all. Went to an art school in Baltimore. But I applied to JMU because if I was going to go anywhere in the state it'd be there. Afterall they do have the hottest women.

the only thing good about NC State is it isn't Duke.

and RJ Reynolds hosted one of the best Phish shows I ever saw:

    12.16.99

    insane Tweezer....

and to keep this on topic, I think Karbassiyoon was there ;):p

People only go to JMU because they can't get into UVA or, more recently, VA Tech. If you are saying you think JMU is a better school than Tech (not factoring education in), you my phriend need to spend more time in Blacksburg. JMU is boring. Harrisonburg is a Massanuthin'.....lol

I'm pretty sure VT has OWNED UVA in every major sport. Well at least last year.

Soccer: I was there. We won 2-1 IIRC.

Basketball: Was there again. Not even a close game.

(American) Football: Was there again. There was some major ownage going on.

Hammer Throw: Wasn't there, but I heard that we won the National Championship.

    Oh yeah great website Danny.

to their credit, UVa did control VA sports for many, many years....see Terry kirby, Ralph Samson, Terry Holland, George Welsh....but the times did change...

and don't forget that US soccer in its pre-MLS days owed its livelyhood to UVa and UCLA: C. Jones, Joe Max Moore, Friedel, C. Henderson, E. Lewis, John Harkes, Reyna, Meola, Agoos all spent time in either one of these two programs....and these are the ones off the top of my head.

Sad but true story (for me). After my freshman year at NC State, we hired the UVa coach to come down and coach soccer and lacrosse at State (for this alone, we have been damned to soccer hell). It was a guy named Larry Gross. UVa hired....you guessed it, Bruce Arena.

Gross was worthless as a coach, although he did recruit some decent players.

And to keep this on topic, Great web site, Danny.
