Cap him Bruce! :) (I was first to say it. What do I win?)

He scored more goals for Arsenal than Thierry Henry last week.

Wenger has moved him back to defense. Another American playing defense in a good system in the EPL...this could bode well for future backline of the US. I'd like to see him develop and find out where he is playing with the reserves.

He actually scored this goal while playing midfield for Arsenal (left winger).

    Nitpicky question...

Was this really the "match winner"?
I've heard 2 schools of thought on the "winning goal"

Fact: he scored the 2nd goal and the team won 2-1.

However, when he scored his goal, the team was already up.
Some sports statisticians use the goal that put the team ahead for good as the game winning goal. In this case that would be the first, since arsenal were never tied or losing after that.

Is there a definitive answer here or is this one where both can be used... and nobody but me really cares about the terminology? :p

    Good question!

I suppose I should really have said that the goal he scored turned out to be the winning goal. Although we're getting into a world of conjecture here! Had he not scored, would Fowler still have rattled one in to draw level, etc, etc...

My head will start to hurt soon.

The same thing every other poster who thinks they know more than Bruce does... a lonely, bitter life and recognition on BS. Cheers! ;)

Probably doing this in the "late to the party" fashion, but edited the title to avoid spoilers. Also, in the event that someone may not yet know the result of the Gunners' midweek domestic cup tie.
