I'm not sure if this match is deserving of its own thread or should be included in the Chicago pregame thread, but anyway...

Etcheverry in Bolivia Trying to Get Son Out

It looks like Etcheverry might miss this weekend's match with Kansas City. Stewart is a game-time decision and Kovalenko is out due to caution points. Of course United is missing Olsen and Rimando through injury. They're missing some big guns.

Man, this all seems to be lining up well for us. If it all comes together and we get in while DC stays home I would be ecstatic. Missing the playoffs couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of jerks.

    Didn't KC just lose Wolff?

Yeah, but really....who expected Wolf to score the winning goal in this one. I almost forget he's in the league anymore.

It doesn't matter who DC is missing, I seem to remember an instance where they walked into the San Siro of North America and stole a point against the America's most massive club.

yeah, But I also seem to remember you saying that there was no chance they would lose at home to America's most massive club.

I thought Hudson would really have them up for it. As it turns out the franchise had a career day and saved our arses from elimination.

Based on Hunter's blurb in the Dispatch, I guess a draw in this match could be a good thing.

Why, Toon? If Andrulis is rumored to return no matter what, you want the Crew to be eliminated from the playoffs?

Found this listing on the KC boards, which made me feel a bit better for KC's chances...

    OUT - Olsen, Reyes, Rimando
    SUSP - Kovalenko, Eskandarian
    Questionable - Barclay, Geddes, Stewart
    Probable - Warren
Out of The Country - Etcheverry
Available - Alegria, Carroll, Cerritos, Convey, Ivanov, Martins, Namoff, Nelsen, Perea, Petke, Prideaux, Quaranta, Quintanilla, Stoitchkov, Stokes

    C'mon KC.

Carroll and Perea are the only Available guys that have not played very many minutes. Also, word on the street is Etchevery is on a plane back to DC. He should be on the pitch tonight.

You guys are screwed. I've never - in 8 years of trying - seen the Wizards win as the "away" team.

    Never.

DC is guaranteed at least one point by my presence. I wish it weren't true. And who knows, maybe my own personal streak of horror will come to end tonight. For your sake, and mine, I hope so.

    Go Wizards!

Could you switch your subject matter to "Hippie Chicks protesting ________ on the Mall" tomorrow? I'm sure it would be wonderful subject matter and I'd gladly refund the price of your ticket.

How about some Hum Int. of Itchyhairry's hair stylist?

Well, David "no MLS minutes" Stokes too. And although I'm not sure about the word on the street, the word in the press remains that Etch is away and probably won't suit up today.

Also, I'm pretty sure we'll have another DC United AIM chat during the match. As interested parties to this game you guys are welcome to join in ...

... as usual the room is "BigSoccerDCU" and the instructions for joining are in the DCU board's FAQ.

And luckily, too - for Columbus.

But the best moment of the first half was when he called Preki a 'former Yugoslavian".
