Hey. I propose in this thread to ask questions and share information with those who are going to come to Kaliningrad.
The Kaliningrad Region is small. If you arrive then you can watch cities for living: Zelenogradsk, Svetlogorsk, Kaliningrad.
It all depends on your requirements. Who needs a hotel 5 * and someone is ready to walk all night through bars and he needs a place where to leave things for the night and drink water in the morning)))
You can ask me about the places that you are not available for, I will share information and tell you what other options are available
For example, from Kaliningrad to the hotel a maximum of 1 hour to go by taxi, to the airport 40 minutes. The taxi will now cost no more than $ 25. I did not stop there but Svetlogorsk is a beautiful city by the sea. https://www.booking.com/hotel/ru/ge...63e4b78c93e0030;type=total;ucfs=1&#map_closed
Svetlogorsk is nice but has almost no sand beach. I would recommend checking Zelenogradsk if the sea is important for you. A little bit less tourist infrastructure, but transport options on the same level. http://www.booking.com/searchresults.html?city=-3046135&aid=918725&no_rooms=1&group_adults=1 Best beach - Yantarny but less transport Wild beaches - Curonian Spit - Lesnoy, Mosrkoe, Rybachiy, transport options limited, but possible.
Local minister of tourism promised that some number of rooms will be released by FIFA partners on Jan 31 and in the middle of April.
What area is best to stay in Moscow? With reasonable access to the stadium for final and easy to get back from the stadium to the area. Also with good night life. Thanks
Match 08 - Croatia v Nigeria (16 June) Match 26 - Serbia v Switzerland (22 June) Match 36 - Spain v Morocco (25 June) Match 45 - England v Belgium (28 June) Very excited! Looks like a beautiful place.
Hey thanks for your help. I’m staying in the fish village for a couple of nights. Looks like it will be ok. Where do you think crowds will gather for drinks the night before England v Belgium game? Also how much does a beer cost over there?
Good afternoon. Rybnja village is an ideal place for fans. You can walk to all places of interest in Kaliningrad on foot. If you cross the bridge over the river, you can drink beer here: https://vk.com/pirathouse39. 300 meters from the hotel.
That`s 15 min walk from the Fan Zone. And some activities are promised on the Kant Island. Most of the fun will be there. Plus Victory Square in the center. Small pubs will be overcrowded. Hope that there will be some tables added outside. There will be crowds next to the village and it's several restaurants too. Note that alcohol drinking on streets isn't allowed.
Hey All, My first game that I would like to watch this World Cup happens to be in Kaliningrad. I was thinking of flying into Warsaw, and then taking either a bus, train or taxi to Kaliningrad, considering every airplane connection to Kaliningrad is either too expensive, or to long of an overlay in Warsaw. I couldn't find too much information about buses or trains, but considering I am willing to pay the cost to get to Kaliningrad the fastest way, I was wondering if a taxi from Poland is able to (legally) cross the border into Russia and drive me to Kaliningrad. Any info would be appreciated. Thank You!
Hey. Warsaw - Kaliningrad 7-8 hours en route by bus, the price is $ 17. You can go to Warsaw-Gdans Kaliningrad. The taxi will be very expensive but not faster. http://vokzal39.ru/bus-varshava.html
3 different bus options, direct flights, and a possible connection in Gdansk http://kaliningradguide.com/2018/02/02/warsaw-kaliningrad-tickets/
Hi, I'm coming to Kaliningrad for the England Belgium match. Do any of you have suggestions for the best neighborhoods to stay in and any areas to avoid staying in? Thanks
Good afternoon. The ideal place is Fishing Village, you can walk on foot to the stadium and to the city center but very expensive. Taxi through the whole Kaliningrad 20 minutes 8 $. You can look for a hotel in any area.
My recommendations: http://kaliningradguide.com/2017/11/29/hotels-in-kaliningrad-for-the-world-cup-2018-in-june/ This is the area to research in the first place. The most obvious choice is next to 1 and 2 - stadium and fan zone. But the center is quite compact and everything is within the walking distance There are cheap options outside the marked area, worth to try as well. Cheap taxies apps will save your time and money. Safety... in general it's more or less ok, but the center is safer for sure. General tips - avoid dark streets, don't get drunk alone, don't flash your fat wallet a lot, etc. Basic rules for every city probably.
Hey. If someone is left completely without a place to spend the night - take a beer and come to us)))
