dude, he's not even remotely as good as charisteas... give the big guy a chance, zlatan struggled his first season here too
Haven't seen this mentioned yet: Despite having three prolific goalkeepers in his squad, Ajax coach Danny Blind has promoted Holland under 20's keeper Kenneth Vermeer to the first-team. The 19-year-old has been rewarded for some outstanding performances at junior level with a call-up to the full Ajax squad and will become the fourth keeper at the Amsterdam ArenA for the time being alongside Stekelenburg, Lobont and current first choice Hans Vonk. The arrical of Vermeer could place the future of Bogdan Lobont into question and he is the likeliest candidate to leave the club at the end of the season.
I think the home kit has a classic look about it. Not bad at all considering the fact that it's an Ajax kit No more 'adidas-stripes', that's what you guys wanted right? And the other one? Well, away kits will always be away kits. That's the part where they remove the designer's straightjacket and let him go on a berserk 'designing' rampage, so he/she can finally utilise those artsy schmartsy textbook designing rules they learned at fashion school....
this from Skysports: Ajax have informed South American trio Luis Kasmirski, Sebastian Rusculleda and Gaston Sagnoy that they will not be offered terms. All three have been on loan to Ajax, but they will now return to their respective clubs - Kasmirksi to Figueirense, while Rusculleda and Sagnoy will head back to Boca Juniors. Ajax have also told Cedric van der Gun, Yannis Anastasiou, Pius Ikedia, Robert Zwinkels and Ruud Kras that they will not be given new contracts in the summer. One player who could be staying on is veteran keeper Hans Vonk. The veteran is wanted as number two and the 35-year-old should agree terms next week. Ajax have decided to keep Vonk as neither Maarten Stekelenburg nor Bogdan Lobont will accept a reserve role, which means one of them will almost certainly leave. p.s. i think the new kits look. o.k. the 03/04 kit is still the best in my mind. the new away set looks like a traning kit though. meh. so will the orangesh one become the '3rd' jersey?
Abubakari Yakubu has signed a permanent deal (a four year contract) with Vitesse Arnhem. Ajax will get €750,000: http://skysports.planetfootball.com...esse+tie+up+Yakubu+deal&channel=Football_Home
hatem trabelsi has begun discussing a contract extension with AJAX... color me stunned, but very happy - i get the feeling the board wants to hold the key guys around for one more season
To all Ajax supporters good victory at Feyenoord over the weekend. Excellent finish. Do you think any of your stars will leave in the summer like VDV and Sneijder?
For the one millionth time... Bergkamp considering Ajax return 19 Apr 2005 Arsenal striker Dennis Bergkamp is considering a return to his former club Ajax. The Dutch striker, 35, has less than three months left on his Arsenal contract and still does not know if he will be offered a new deal. Ajax coach Danny Blind has sounded out Bergkamp about a return to Amsterdam and has received encouragement. Bergkamp, who spent seven years at Ajax, took a massive 50 per cent pay cut when he signed his last Gunners contract two years ago. His 30,000-euros--a-week wage makes him one of the lowest-paid players at the club. Not that he is short of money. A recent survey claimed that his estimated personal fortune is 52 million euros.
Has there been news in the dutch press where VDV may end up? I know Spain is the most likely due to his mum.
hilarious vi.nl headline: OOK FC UTRECHT LEGT AZ OVER DE KNIE (FC UTRECHT ALSO PUTS AZ OVER THE KNEE) classic
Well, so much for that: The agent of Arsenal favourite Dennis Bergkamp says the Dutchman will retire if he isn't handed a new contract. The London club's board have yet to decide whether to offer Bergkamp a 12-month extension. Ajax will tempt him with a one-year deal worth close to 1.5 million euro in a bid to keep him from turning his back on football if a new contract from Arsenal fails to materialise. But Bergy's agent, Rob Jansen, said: "If Dennis does not receive another contract from Arsenal he will retire from football completely."
