When I first heard it sounded like a trapped nerve, some accupunture should cure it. I would be supprised if he was out for more than two weeks.

yea, 17 overall (9 EPL/8 FA cup) if he gets 20 overall he'll break some record in Villa....if he gets 20 in EPL he'll be god...

O'Leary shares the ambitious views of Villa's leading scorer Juan Pablo Angel, who converted the spot-kick.

Angel has hinted that he wants to be sure Villa can be a major top-flight force before he commits himself to a new contract.

O'Leary said: 'Juan and I have a great relationship - and he knows what I think of him.

'Like any good player, he is ambitious - and I want to be going places as well.

Angel, el máximo goleador del Aston Villa inglés, estará de baja durante unas tres semanas, al haber contraído el jugador una lesión de rodilla.

La ausencia en la plantilla de los "Villanos" del jugador, que lleva anotados 21 tantos en lo que va de Liga, constituye una baja importante para el club que dirige David O'Leary.

"(Angel) Estará fuera durante unas tres semanas, pero ojalá que esté de regreso para poder jugar al menos un par de partidos antes de que termine la temporada", dijo el técnico irlandés, en declaraciones hechas al portal oficial de internet del club.

Juan Pablo Ángel está solucionando un problema de rodilla en su natal Medellín, los dirigentes del Aston Villa analizan alternativas tendientes de asegurar la continuidad del jugador en el club por cuatro tempordadas más. Al parecer la oferta hecha inicialmente por el presidente de la institución Dooug Ellis, no colmó plenamente las intenciones del jugador colombiano.
Ellis propuso un salario semanal de $40.000 euros (algo más de 120 millones de pesos), cantidad no aceptada por Ángel, que aspira a tener un sueldo cercano a los 60.000 euros (cifra que nunca en su historia han pagado a jugador alguno en el Aston Villa). ANGEL ON THE MOVE?
No obstante los directivos del Villa se está viendo apurados, ante el deseo de Rafael Benítez nuevo entrenador del Liverpool, de fichar el delantero paisa. Benítez incluso desde su época como técnico del Valencia, siempre ha querido contar con los servicios de Ángel a quien tiene un magnífico concepto.
El Liverpool está a la espera de la decisión final de las partes para entrar a negociar.

Villa striker Angel set to miss start of season

Aston Villa striker Juan Pablo Angel looks likely to miss the start of the premier league season because of a recurring knee injury.

The Colombian international, Villa's top scorer last season with 23 goals, flew back to England on Tuesday from the club's tour of Sweden after the injury to his right knee forced him out of a training session.

"I would say now that he will miss the Southampton game (on August 14) and that is clearly frustrating him," manager David O'Leary said on the club's website.

Colombia no tiene Ángel

El delantero de 28 años aun no se ha recuperado completamente de una operación de rodilla realizada meses atrás, razón por la cual no ha podido debutar como titular en la Liga Premier inglesa con su club, Aston Villa.

El entrenador del equipo de Birmingham, David O´Leary, ya había advertido que el antioqueño no estaba en capacidad de actuar durante 90 minutos cuando supo que Reynaldo Rueda lo había convocado para el duelo ante los australes.

Juan Pablo Ángel ha anotado siete goles con la selección Colombia en 24 convocatorias a lo largo de ocho años. Sergio Herrera o Luis Gabriel Rey podrían ocupar su lugar en la lista de convocados para el partido del 5 de septiembre.

El entro en el segundo tiempo y tambien en partido pasado.El Club quiere que tome su tiempo para recuperarse.El Club piensa que para el 15 de spetiembre este listo para jugar 90 minutos.
