Similar to the goal he scored against El Salvador in Sept 2009. Cross from the left and Altidore headed it across the keeper's body into the corner of the net.
especially over USA MEN forums you hear posters criticizing him for timing on headers and placement of headers...you cant get any better than that one.
Good run from the other forward there as well. They had 2v1 at the back post, winger played a great ball, and the other forward got the defender to commit, leaving Altidore alone for the header.
he had been far back on d...he's been running the pitch alot today it seems... he saw space, called for it but the ball went down the left, eventually finding #10 who brought the ball back towards mid and send a perfect cross to Altidore, who had his hand up an stuck it in the top left
he's definitely playing up top, but has been everywhere. He even received a ball deep in their own half at one point, and started a good attacking sequence. Good speed of thought so far IMO.
He looked very good in that half. He was aggressive and made himself available. I've always thought the weakest parts of his game were off the ball movement and his play in the air, and he's been great in both those areas today. Very encouraging.

I am glad that somebody else noticed this also. Altidore was getting in great positions the entire half but his teammates had trouble passing the ball to him. Hopefully he can avoid getting a 2nd yellow card in the 2nd half.
