This article in the Boston Globe said that Jose Manuel Abundis (a former Mexico Intl) was close to signing with LAG. http://www.boston.com/sports/soccer/articles/2006/08/31/abundis_would_be_quite_a_score/
If you noticed I said "was" because LAG didnt have a senior international spot for him From the article itself: ``It was a matter of economics in Toluca. I couldn't agree to a contract. The Mexican [transfer window] is closed now, so I looked at the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA, but they are at the limit with foreign players, then this opportunity came up."
No offense aimed at the poster, but what a load. We only have 2 SI right now (Jazic and Cornell Glenn) and one SYI (Nags, who will be an SI next year IIRC). That means for this season we have 2 open SI spots. Which means that staff just wasn't interested.
