Some background -- looks like a RIASA player:

Having being spotted at the Orlando experience in March 2014, Jonathan Lewis from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida has now been offered a 2-year professional contract with Bradford City FC, following a recommendation to the club by RIASA football Director, Mark Ellis. After being spotted in Orlando Florida last spring, Jonathan Lewis was invited onto the RIASA Summer Experience back in the UK. Jonathan attracted the attention of several clubs on the RIASA summer tour last year when he played for Fulham U21’s as well as York City and Middlesborough U19’s.:

    Headed home. Snip:

The football club can confirm that young forward Jon Lewis has now left the Coral Windows Stadium after his Bradford City contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
Lewis, 18, signed a two-year professional deal with the Bantams over the summer but he will now return to his native United States of America with immediate effect.

Did not come back to the U.S. for passport issues, evidently:

But he will be here for a while I guess -- picked #3 by NYCFC.

He's going to be a superstar. He's a fantastic player. 2 goals and 12 assists from the wing for the Zips this season. I expect a big season for him at NYCFC. They will be really fun to watch. Him & Jack Harrison supplying Villa.
