12/1, FA Cup, 2nd round, goal at 0:08, beating fellow YA Paul Rachubka of Accrington Stanley- He also scored his 1st league goal of the year on 11/24 vs. Northampton: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/jon-paul-pittman/leistungsdaten/spieler_34258.html MODS: Thread title outdated
Pittman injured his shoulder in that FA Cup match. He under went surgery and will miss 11 weeks. Oxford United are in 14th place in League Two, 7 points off the last promotion playoff spot and 10 points clear of the relegation zone. Pittman has played in 12 league games (1 start, 313 minutes) and has 1 goal. Pittman also has a goal in two FA Cup starts. Oxford United has made it through to the third round where they will host League One side Sheffield United. Pittman also has 1 start in the Football League Trophy. Oxford United host Southend United in the Area Semifinals (quarterfinals) on the eighth. Finally, he logged 10 minutes in the League Cup.
Pittman still out action with a shoulder injury. Due to be back in April. His contract is up this summer, will he give MLS a chance? Probably could make as much as he is making in England, perhaps more. Still relatively young at 26.
He has played in League One before and done well. Other players from League One have done well in MLS, among them Luke Rodgers and Terry Cooke. And several top MLS players have played in League One or League Two, including Eddie Lewis, Robbie Findley, Robbie Rogers. Barry Robson just transferred to League One from Vancouver. John Bostock was also playing at League One level before arriving in Toronto. Other players who have played in League One include Ruben Bover, Chris Birchall, and John Thorrington.
Pittman has played one season in League One, during which he scored 7 goals in 40 games (21 starts, 2092 minutes). That was three seasons ago. Since then, he has had injuries and his form has dropped. He has started 13 games over the past 2.5 seasons in League Two. I understand that good League One players can contribute in MLS. There's little reason to think that Pittman is at that level.
I hear you, but he's still young. I'm not sure he'd start for an MLS team, but he could certainly provide some competition from the bench on weaker MLS teams (i.e. Chivas USA, Philly, Toronto, Colorado, Portland, Columbus, Chicago).
He's really struggled with injuries the past 2 years. In all competitions this year he has played in 16 games (12 as a sub, 4 starts) and scored 2 goals. His contract is up in the summer so it will be interesting to see where he ends up. Some good news though is that he is finally back in training after a shoulder injury which required surgery http://www.oxfordtimes.co.uk/sport/10291452.Pittman_in_Oxford_United_fitness_boost/
JPP has been doing well since he finally returned from his shoulder injury. A breakdown of the games Returned on 4/1 against Aldershot. Came on as a sub and had a goal and an assist Played the full 90 against Wycombe on 4/6 Did not play against Dagenham & Redbridge on 4/13 Came on as a sub against Rochdale yesterday and provided an assist Oxford has one more game remaining this season and are in 10th place in the league.
JPP is one of 12 players released by Oxford http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22380979 He had another injury riddled year. He played in 19 games (5 starts, 14 sub) with 3 goals and 2 assists in all competitions.
Interesting note. Gareth Ainsworth is the manager of Wycombe. He and JPP were teammates during JPP's first spell with the club.

Pittman back training with Wycombe after a 2 month injury absence. Wonder how much he's making - and if he could make an MLS team (and potentially make more in MLS). http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/football-double-boost-chairboys-151150438--sow.html
Looks like he might be considering Stateside options, perhaps with Minnesota United. From a report on their preseason UK tour: For the record: the goals were scored by Simone Bracalello, Campos, Tiago Calvano, Floyd Franks, Aaron Pitchkolan (who scored twice), triallist JP Pittman and Nate Polak. http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/250213831.html
Still with Wycombe, but injured- http://www.torquayheraldexpress.co....tory-21041525-detail/story.html#ixzz30iiTc2SL
His contract is up in the summer and it will be interesting to see where he goes next. He played in 11 games (2 starts, 9 sub) this season in all competitions. He was extremely injury prone this season, it seemed like whenever he would recover from one injury he would immediately pick up another one. In team news Wycombe won their game against Torquay on the last day of the season and were saved from relegation
He has left Wycombe after his contract expired http://www.bucksfreepress.co.uk/sport/11216351.Ainsworth_relishing_a_fresh_start/
He's on trial with League Two side Dagenham and Redbridge http://www.barkinganddagenhampost.c...n_daggers_pre_season_win_at_bromley_1_3671545
Latest news: "Jon-Paul Pittman and Connell went with the Daggers to Spain, but it could be the end of the line for the former, with a deal more likely for Connell." http://www.london24.com/sport/footb...rested_in_cureton_says_boss_burnett_1_3685506
Trialing with Grimsby: http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/T...Grimsby-Town/story-21742066-detail/story.html They went on to lose the Doncaster game 4-0.
Scored for Grimsby in a 3-1 win against Gainsborough Trinity in the semi-final game of the Lincolnshire Cup. It's a tournament for teams in the Lincolnshire area.
