did anyone catch the baseball pregame last night when they interviewed Red Sox outfielder Johnny Damon? He was wearing a Chicago Fire hat!
Are you positive it was a Chicago Fire cap, and not a fire department cap? The Fire badge is modeled on fire department logos. If you walk down my street in Western Pennsylvania, you might think it's a hotbed of Fire support, as you can see 5 cars with logos in about 6 blocks. But if you look closely, you see that they're volunteer firefighters. Now, if the cap said, "Chicago Fire" and had an MLS tag on the side... great catch.
believe it. it was a ten second interview with just his shoulders and head in the frame, and you could clearly see the logo and tell that it was the Fire. in fact, it was my wife who said it first: "look, he's wearing a Chicago Fire hat."
I figured that he's either from chicago, or has a friend on the team. Either way, thanks for the publicity and get well soon.
reason for Fire hat Johnny endorses Puma and our Puma rep who was at the game last night said he gave him some of the Puma Fire hats earlier this year and the knit cap has become Johnny's favorite hat. peter
Near the end of the red sox -yankee game tonight they showed a tape of him with his kids and he had the hat on.They had a good closeup of the fire logo.
"Johnny endorses Puma and our Puma rep who was at the game last night said he gave him some of the Puma Fire hats earlier this year and the knit cap has become Johnny's favorite hat..." Damn, and I thought maybe he was still suffering from his concussion when he put it on, not knowing what team it was. Of course, it would seemingly make sense for him to wear a Revolution knit cap... if Umbro offered a knit cap... or, um... any merchandise. Apparently the Revolution Pro-Shop finally got in replica kits just this week: no kidding. The Magpie
Was watching game with wife and she said "why would a Fire player be on during a baseball game?". She may not know our players but she recognizes the gear. It is all she sees me wearing.
Re: reason for Fire hat ...and Johnny Damon just became my favourite baseball player. (Garciaparra loses points for taking Mia off the market). m
Here's a link to a Boston Busines Journal article if anyone is interested. http://www.bizjournals.com/boston/stories/2003/04/21/daily37.html
Johnny Damon is a liar and throws like a girl. Almost like Carlos Lee, but not as bad. - All Royals fans
"As part of the three-year sponsorship agreement, Damon will wear Puma's Diamond Ultra Low speed cleats during the 2003 season." I wonder if these are the shoes Jeff Agoos wears?
