He hasn't played yet this year, and only made the bench 3 times. Is he playing for some sort of youth team? How does reserve/youth soccer work in Mexico?
There are 2 ways that Liga MX clubs get out-of-favor players playing time: * Teams can play overage players in the U20 league (sometimes we've seen 4-5 1st teamers dropped down to the U20s). He could be playing in the U20s right now. * Lots of players end up in Liga de Expansion, which is the current Mexican 2nd tier without promotion. I don't know if Queretaro has a direct club connection in the league, but it's pretty common.
