Yes, you are remembering correctly. He broke his leg in August 2014.

He has the 2nd most minutes played on the team (behind the goalkeeper), is tied for 7th in the league with 4 goals, and is tied for 9th in the league in chances created with 19.

They scored right after he came on. I wonder if he was involved...

Gallardo didn’t play last night. I watched a bit of the game. Queretaro seemed to dominate via counters.

He hasn't played yet this year, and only made the bench 3 times. Is he playing for some sort of youth team? How does reserve/youth soccer work in Mexico?

There are 2 ways that Liga MX clubs get out-of-favor players playing time:

    * Teams can play overage players in the U20 league (sometimes we've seen 4-5 1st teamers dropped down to the U20s). He could be playing in the U20s right now.

    * Lots of players end up in Liga de Expansion, which is the current Mexican 2nd tier without promotion. I don't know if Queretaro has a direct club connection in the league, but it's pretty common.

    Thanks!

He did start for the U-20s today: https://www.sofascore.com/team/football/queretaro-u20/177968

    They lost 2-0 though.

He moved to CF Correcaminos, aka Corecaminos UAT, aka UAT, in the LIga de Expansion (weird 2nd division).

He started and played 78 minutes in their latest game, a 2-0 win. According to Soccerway, he has started 9 games and played 679 minutes, about 75 per game.
