If things are looking bad for Biden, I would tune into MSNBC. If it's a Biden win, I will tune into Fox News. Because that's how I roll.
I know so many people are focused on the Presidency, but I'm really keen on seeing how the Senate races shape up. If the numbers for Trump are down, it's gotta impact down ballot races, as well. If people are turning it out in force, let's hope it's not just a rebuke of Trump, but also a rebuke of the Republicans that put him there.
From my Chilean ex, I got to hear multiple sories about si/no. This feels similar but more hopeful. And that is knowing the outcome of the si/no vote.
e.g. in Broward County (the rare FL county where Democrats are winning the Election Day vote)From 7am to 1030am, the vote was D38/R34/I28 (D +4)From 1030 to 1230pm, it was D39/R31/I31 (D +8)From 1230 to 3pm, it was D37/R26/I37 (D +11)— Nate Silver (@NateSilver538) November 3, 2020 Another decrease of 0.5% of my anxiety levels.
The point is. the only reason Biden is more in favor of free trade than Trump (as was asserted) is not that Biden champions free trade, but rather that Trump is not a Republican, and neither are today's Republicans.
Back when the British joined the EU, Spain, Portugal and Greece were fascist dictatorships, as was half of Latin America. Its really not that long ago
I'm right there with you. It's a gorgeous Election Day here in Columbus. Stunning blue skies, close to 60. I decided beer by the fire pit was the best way to spend the late afternoon/early evening. I mean, when isn't it? At least I've been smart enough to drink something of only modest strength (Leinenkugel's bock) as opposed to the far more potent stuff I have in the fridge from some local breweries. Prosit!
Other than possibly Arizona, those should all be easily in the bag. So it's really up to Arizona, which based on the polls looks favorable. And if somehow Arizona goes to Trump, there are still several other states that Biden could win, starting with Pennsylvania.
I wish I could share your positivity, but I heard this same message 4 years ago, and all we got was a bunch of pissed off white dudes angry about the black guy President trying to give them commie healthcare. I'm not in the business of making predictions, but Trump isn't licked. Not by a longshot. He can still win, and, even if he doesn't, he has the courts and voter suppression tactics to fall back on to turn a loss into a win the same way W did in 2000. I'm not taking anything for granted this time around because we've seen this shit too many times before in the last 20 years.
Meanwhile... LET’S GO EL PASO! https://t.co/V3DvKBYNIl— Beto O'Rourke (@BetoORourke) November 3, 2020
She did not win Wisconsin either, but we are discussing it. That 1 electoral vote in the Nebraska district has been polling favorable to Biden (but quite close).
Heading home from the Philly rally. Not showering off my Kamala hug. I’m not even sure if we hugged honestly I was very in awe but not showering either way. Anyone else’s entire body also hurt?? I’m so nervous 😩— chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) November 3, 2020 Apparently Chrissy Tiegen is channeling my feelings
Thinking about this more, in a close election, the results aren't decided because you turned out your most reliable base voters. The results are determined because you convinced more of your unreliable voters to bother to show up. That requires a lot of organization and a lot of work. Did the Trump campaign really have that organization and do that work?
There's a lot of truth to this. Traditionally, GOP has been the party of free trade. As recently as 2016 this was true.
From what I can tell, they showed up to rallies, they put up yard signs, and they had car caravans. None of that helps your get the vote out
My neighbor is having a gun sale. Seriously! I guess I'm not in New York anymore. Except I am in New York, a mere 100 minute drive from the City.
They spent more time trying to scare people into not voting rather than give anyone a reason to vote. Only crazy people would look at that and go "That dude with the camo on, yelling at those brown people about voter fraud makes a great point! I want to vote for his candidate!"
Every time I inadvertently hear or see that man, I think of the Sandy Hook parents who've had their grief exacerbated due to his conspiracy-mongering bullshit.
