Oh it goes deeper than that. The purpose of the advertising is to fool the public that corporations believe in democracy too. If you people aren't getting the election results via ham radio you're nothing but a sheep. I'll be flipping channels all night but mostly listening to NPR and surfing the web.
Will be watching Joe Rogan's election night stream. He's just coming off Sober October so he's going to get lit up with some of his closest friend while breaking down what is happening. Nothing will be more entertaining than that tonight. Alex Jones was rumored as a possible guest: would love nothing more for him to be there, especially if Biden looks to win. His guaranteed meltdown will be one of epic proportions and for that alone would be worth watching.
Maybe he's learned though? I can't recall the last time I've seen him this happy. He always starts out positive at a job, and then slowly devolves into whiny/angry over the next year and a half. The man is a brilliant tactician and knows football talent, his problem is that he brings down his own locker room with his attitude. That's what happened at Utd and Chelsea the 2nd time.
He's been at Spurs less than a year. The collapse usually comes in his second year in charge, so there's plenty of time yet.
Days like this, I reflect on our system. So may of my values are against Dem base these days. I'm very much pro free trade, very much in support of the concept that Corporate America can be a force of good with the right regulations for America, more libertarian in terms of personal freedom, generally against raising taxes to resolve income inequality...but I really have no other choice other than to vote Dem, because while I disagree with a lot of their philosophy, they are the only party that I believe is working honestly to do what's best for the American people, and stands strongly against bigotry, xenophobia, and is starkly pro democracy.
It feels a bit like before a World Cup final with your team involved. You still want to expirience that? best wishes to all honest people and good nerves tonight. Another thought: This is a bit like becoming parents. You think when your wife is giving birth, the whole stressful phase will be over in some hours, finally. But in reality, it's only the start of very stressful days and weeks. We can just hope it all will turn out good.
This is where I'm grateful that I subscribe to FuboTV, which doesn't carry CNN or any of the other channels formerly owned by TimeWarner.
I'm a horrible person.. I like to watch CNN for this stuff. They tend to be more neutral and, yet, not boring like PBS. That being said, if it starts to look like Biden is going to win, I'll probably switch to MSNBC for victory lap purposes. However, if it starts to look like Biden is going to lose, I'll watch Netflix or something.
I thought about that too, but after your team loses you move on. If Trump wins...I will hate waking up (hungover at that) knowing we got 4 more years.
