Don't forget our boy Juergen Elitim is also playing this same match, he's number 22 and is central midfield.

    He plays for Legia Warsaw

Lucas Digne gave away the game. So frustrating.

Positive for Villa is really continued ascendance of Duran who is growing in confidence each game.

Here is a link that will work in US:

yeah i might be wrong but i think he was a Millonarios youth product too, surged at the same time as Jorge Carrascal

He's def more talented but Emery is a real stickler for tactical discipline and Watkins work rate and positioning is excellent.

I think Duran will be playing more and more because his impact is undeniable but may also see them adopt a double 9 formation at times too - that's how Emery answered he'd find more time for JJD if he keeps playing like this.

Said it before but he just does not play like a 19 year old.
Sky is the limit if he can continue improving his game.

Sadly, Villa eliminated from the League Cup with JJD starting tonight.

Google users rated him pretty well but lame as the Cup was going to be another source of starts for him. Though at this point a lot of clamor for him to start with Watkins in league anyway...

    Argh!

Villa playing brilliant against Brighton is huge match today. Watkins with a hat trick.

    Duran hasn't come on yet.

Update: 6-1 Villa! Incredible result. Duran with 15 minutes as a sub after starting midweek.

That said, Watkins hat trick (after another huge goal vs Chelsea last week) and playing full bore till 90th minute will def cool the media and fan push for Jhon to replace him as the starter in the near term.

    insane !!!

yea I don't get why people are freaking out he is 20(in December) playing in the EPL and getting decent minutes. He isn't a Messi level talent. He isn't even as promising as some of the strikers we had before him. He has more goals/minutes than Sinisterria who people want to be a starter is and much older (24). I am much more worried about Borre, Cucho, Luis Suarez pretty much sucking since they are who we thought would be our strikers this time around. Cassiera come out of no where but isn't being given a shot.

Let the guy develop. The fans and coach love the guy and not rushing him. Not his fault we are in desperate need of a #9. He should be our main guy next qualifier round or maybe by the World Cup but even then.... he going to be 22.

Some of these goals were fantastic. Emery landing his style.

JJD in a great place. Very exciting as everyone (fans, teammates and media) pushing for him to get time too and the side is doing great. Just need to stay alive in the ECL.

He started but was subbed at half. They ended up winning in the 94th minute.

He was starved for service in 1H from what I read.

Confused by today. Some people saying he removed Villa images from his IG but I'm not sure he did that today and he hasn't removed all his Villa posts on Twitter.

Hoping he didn't have a blow up with Emery. Villa got a huge result today too to stay fifth in the Prem and they have a UECL match midweek that he was to likely to start!
