Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] I think Honda usually plays centre midfield. Latest news about his transfer. http://www.sportweek.nl/voetbal/88802/Ajax_Feyenoord_PSV_en_AZ_volgen_Keisuke_Honda
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Out of all the 'top quality' Japanese midfielders he'd be the best suited to the Premier league. For how he plays and the fact that he's got some physical presence and wouldn't get swept away. He'd never get a permit though.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Is Honda being linked to the clubs mentioned inthe article, or does it mention anything else? Honda played on the right side too for Olympic NT
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Theres a goal.com article in english which might be saying the same thing http://www.goal.com/en/news/1686/eredivisie/2009/03/10/1148199/psv-chasing-vvv-star-keisuke-honda 10 million euros if true is not to be sneezed at
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Don't know why Okubo joined Wolfsburg.... He has been a flop so far. The club is now one of the best clubs in the Bundesliga and they have strong strikers... On the bright side, Osama Elsamni assisted a goal last week. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsjFQTnfaUQ"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bsjFQTnfaUQ[/ame]

Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] didnt watch the game but this happened after a tackle ... nothing special though
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Magath didn't want him for the striker position. Okubo brought in as a offensive Allrounder, but you're right he should get more playing-time.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] I'm starting to get worried about Okubo as well. It begun great with him scoring in a couple of friendlies, maybe he ends up like Ono.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Elsamni looks like a good prospect for the future. Has he chosen his citizenship yet? Also, has anyone seen him play for Tokyo Verdy? I heard that he has a brother that plays at Verdy.

Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Ono is now better. He got subbed in at the 69th minute in a win over Borussia Monchengladbach.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Honda scores again FT Fortuna Sittard [0 - 1] VVV Venlo 65' [0 - 1] K. Honda
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Hasebe and Inamoto didn't play, Okubo subbed in at the 90th minute. BTW, Ono played a good game yesterday, and he saved a dangerous shot from the goal line.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] He didn't play any professional games at Verdy. Also, his brother quit football and now he goes to university.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] When will Morimoto return from injury? Catania is playing against Lazio but he isn't even on the bench.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Mizuno made the celtic bench for the first time in months after injury and so on Celtic drew 2-2 against Dundee Utd
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] Honda was captain again as he scored his 14th goal of the season off of a freekick! A move this summer seems eminent.
Re: Japanese Abroad 2008/09 Part 2 [R] To anybody who cares, Saturday was the clash of two Japanese players in the new MLS season, Paulo Nagamura (Who is half-Japanese, half-Brazilian) of Chivas USA vs. Kosuke Kimura of the Colorado Rapids. Kimura played a very different role at Colorado this season, playing at Right Back (Usually he played Right Wing). He played very well but had a lot of trouble against US International Jonathan Bornstein. Kimura's side was unlucky as Chivas USA won 2-0, thanks to two goals from defensive mid Nagamura, who marked US international Pablo Mastroeni out of the game and dominated the field. If any of you guys care about the US MLS, I will post weekly about the aforementioned Japanese players.
