Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] I don't know, but my guess is that because Portsmouth are a far weaker team than Chelsea, Bryan Robson made some tactical changes so that players like Andy Johnson and Geoff Horsfield played, while players like Ina and Kanu were not even on the bench. I thought it was strange that no other midfielders like Darren Carter or Richard Chaplow were on the bench either - just three strikers, a defender and a backup keeper. I know a lot of Albion fans on the various boards and e-mail groups were also wondering why Ina didn't play yesterday, when he had done well last week against Man City. But as I said above, it's probably because Robbo wants to face Chelsea with a few fresh players on Wednesday night.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] I want to watch Inamoto playing against big club such like a Chelsea , but also wanted to watch him contribute to WBA's first win in this seacon. Anyway Congrats to WBA for first win in this season, good start so far. Inamoto must improve to become a regular starter. I hope he get chance.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] I think it is a false start. Mpenza and Barbarez are in great form right now, Lauth is coming back strong, and *gasp* a DUTCHMAN is leading the race for German MVP right now, Rafael van der Vaart. Unless there is an injury, Takahara doesn't have much of a chance in HSV right now.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Both Marseille and HSV advance to the UEFA CUP. Congrats. Koji Nakata played full time against Deportivo and Marseille won 5-1, but Takahara did not play. And It seems Inamoto will not have a chance to play against Chelsea. Both Takahara and Inamoto have hard time. On the oter hand, I am bit surprised Koji Nakahta get playing time so far. I thought he would come back to Kashima.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Ugh, I hope Koji leaves Marseilles, that team is the mess, regardless of them qualifying for UEFA Cup.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Hidetoshi Nakata is not expected to play for Bolton against Newcastle tonight, Bolton manager says He's still not ready for first team football
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Inamoto played 30 minutes tonight, but West Brom lost 4-0.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] i think he should back to fulham...i like inamoto in fulham...he hasn't been himself lately...his styles running out
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] You were right,Inamoto got playing time, though he could not cash in on. Even though Chelsea was too strong, his performance was disappointing.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Inamoto may have only played 30 minutes for West Brom against Chelsea, but by that time it was probably too late. But by all accounts from Albion fans on various sites, Ina was trying to send a subtle message with his effort in that 30 minutes - that he deserves to play more.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] In fact he wasn't even on the subs' bench, as West Brom lost 3-2 at home to Brimingham.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Alright here's what's confusing me. What Albion have lacked in these past few games is a defensive presence in midfield... and it seems Inamoto would fit the bill perfectly!! Also the back line's looking pretty shaky, but that's another matter. Unless Ina has had some behind-the-scenes falling out with Robson over his asking for a new contract (I seriously doubt it), I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the starting XI every match, or at least is on the subs bench every match. Other Albion fans on other Internet venues have found no fault with Ina so far this season, and have begun to wonder why Robbo's treated him so poorly. On the other hand a player like Ronnie Wallwork - who showed flashes of brilliance last season but has never been labelled a 'consistent' player is guaranteed a spot in midfield every match. Could it be racial bias? Or perhaps even fellow ex-Man United player bias??? (I'm referring to Wallwork.) By the way, we had NO midfielders on the bench today against Brum! Why? Out of some obligation to keep our strikers happy? They've been pretty useless so far!
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] I hope you find the reason why Robson doesnt let Ina play, keep us updated, thanks.
Re: Official Japanese Abroad Thread 2005-06 [R] Lazio-Messina 1-0 Yanagisawa didnt play. Dunfermline-Celtic 0-4 Nakamura played 90 minutes and scored one goal. Heracles-Groningen 2-1 Hirayama played 40 minutes.
