glad to see pearce, el guzano plus the fire well represented :)
sad to see no metros. If adu gets a call. i think bradley merits one also.

the nats have got some promising young players in camp which is nice.

clint must be bummed about gavin not being around though, who is he going to roll around in the grass with now?

this camp seems weak tho, only about 10 of these players have even a chance to see the field in germany, that means most of these guys, including adu unless he does something spectacular in the jan friendlies, wont be called back into the pre cup camp

Adu's at the camp for marketing reasons.

He did call in Walker, which I was pleased to see. (No, not a Metro, but kinda too bad that he isn't still) JW acquitted himself well in both of the US games I saw him in. (Denmark and Mexico) I maintain that we should have never sent him to the Crew.

I know that everyone isn't pleased to see Gaven not on the US trainning camp list, but personally I'm glad he isn't. He needs this season for Metro to really improve his game & once he does, then he will be in some serious considerations for the National Team.

Totally agree with this post. I think Gaven has a huge future, however, he just needs to mature a bit more. I hope he has a breakout year for the Metros because he can really play. The trick is to have him play all the time at a high level rather than when he wants to... I hope he figures that part of it out!

Barring our getting the likes of a Mastroeni through a trade, it's possible no Metro player will be going to Germany with the National Team. Good for us. While other teams have to shuffle their lineups to cover a missing, key player, we will be at full strentgh, barring injuries.

I don't think we even have a foreign player on a team heading into the WC, so our roster should be in good shape. I don't expect the US to be long in Germany, but for about a month we should enjoy a slight-to-large advantage over several teams in the league.

Sorry to come off selfish and narrow minded, but this is a Metro board, not the National Team. I hope Bruce decides he doesn't need Eddie G, and he'll be able to spend a whole season with Youri as an unofficial mentor. It's an ill wind that blows nobody good.

I agree. Although he is one of the best players in the MLS he is too old for another WC. I think 37 this year.

On the bright side, we should pounce on other teams during the World Cup if we don't lose one player.

every player on the WC roster will get $250,000 if team qualifies from the group stage plus $750,000 if win the WC

Welch, Bradley & Gaven, the call is not to the World Cup is only for trainning camp if Adu and five more Kidds can, why not this three..
