500k Euros to Juve. He is ours until the summer but if he has success with us (and call me a sucker but I'm confident that he will) I'm sure we'll try to extend it. #11
like i said in the other thread im not certain of success, but he wouldn't surprise me either. just hope he is not TOO good, or some stupid epl team or newly rich team will give him 3M a year that you won't be able to compete with
Well, he's here. I hope he does well for us, and maybe someday I'll actually like him. That's about the best I have right now....as I've said on many an occasion, he's one of my least favorite players. This feels like an incredibly uncreative signing - it's like we've lost the Corvino of 4-5 years ago.
Honestly, if I were a professional football player without some emotional attachment to Firenze or Fiorentina, ours is about the last club on the planet I would consider playing for.
According to this piece he's looking a bit like Jesus and a bit like Bati... Anyway he says that his plan is to prove his worth and then prolong his contract with us in the summer.
Some tidbits from this interview... --paraphrased-- Though I've trained well, I haven't played. Playing is fundamental for a player and it's something I have missed out on... I am at the mister's disposal. My Viola adventure begins. I will speak no more of the past (Juventus). I want to prove, not to them but to myself, that I am still a player with much to contribute. Fiorentina is a big club with important players and I want to lend them a hand and them do the same for me. Gilardino is a great forward but has different characteristics from my own so we can't say who is stronger. ***Plenty more good stuff in there but I gotta run***
I'm not thrilled about this signing but it seems he's very motivated for a comeback. So i think i gonna like this Batigol-clone, when he fights and scores.
