I hurt my calf running beginning of January and I thought it got better by the following week and I only made it worse. Pretty much laid off it all January. Not a fun injury to have. And I’m sure my pain is a fraction of what James has been experiencing.
Thats the thing maybe Brazil and Argentina can handle lot having euro stars but that would totally destroy Uruguay and Colombia. Maybe Chile as well.
We can’t go into games we need to win without our main CB and MF. clubs are playing hard ball but what are they going to do? Fine the players? seems clubs are using this as an excuse. But how many nt players caught covid on international duty last time?
It's country rules, not clubs. Ugly situation because the clubs need their players in this important stretch
Pretty sure I read over weekend that if the travel implies more than a five day quarantine the teams can now reject the requests.
This won't affect WC qualifying for the #usmnt and #ElTriEng right now, but something to keep an eye on. FIFA travel exemption may pit clubs vs. countries for March World Cup qualifying: https://t.co/Qx0vJHRUJ8— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) February 5, 2021
James is good to go this Sunday. 🤕 | The boss says Calvert-Lewin and Pickford are unavailable for #EVEFUL, but expects them both back for #EVEMCI on Wednesday.Gomes, James and King are all back to face Fulham. James starting, looks to have brushed off the calf injury. Everton look dreadful in the first half, barely can get possession at home to Fullham. Not James fault, they can't get him the ball to attack.
amazingly talented player but so limited as well. The body language queues are the same every time that I'm almost embarrassed for him: 1.starts to put his head down constantly. 2. Then starts to touch his leg. 3. Then his knee. 4. Then whatever knock/contact he's received. 5. Then complaint to the ref until he's completely lost and not involved in the play but rather in the injury or the complaint. Especially in EPL where refs don't mind the physicality, it's obvious every EPL manager is just telling their players, play him tight and as physical as you can and he'll be out of his game in no time. Frustrating to watch because he's light years ahead of any other MF in this Everton line-up. I Hope Rueda has a plan up his sleeve that doesn't revolve around James being the man the team is built around.
He's scored wondergoals against Yunai and Leicester in the past month. I didn't think he was the problem today and I am more worried that he isn't properly healing his calf and this thing is a disaster because he is playing at media maquina and it's lingering. I thought he legit reinjured his calf a few minutes before the tackle he came off the field on but didn't think he had his head down before it. He went full on that challenge where he got taken out and a few seconds earlier was waving his arms and screaming for his teammates to press further up the pitch. Color commentary driving so much of the narrative with James. Which I found so annoying because the guy was saying stuff that wasn't true - like alluding to James getting a red card at West Brom, when it was James who drew the red card from a WBA defender in that game and he was the MOTM. It was Richarlison who picked up the cheap red (in a different game) but the color guy seemed convinced it had been James...like all South American players are the same player.
