Jake Sagare, formerly with the Portland Timbers, is now at Halifax Town. He has dual American/British citizenship and started his first match there recently after making for appearances off the bench. More details here (a little more than halfway down): http://onthesidelines.org/weblog101503.htm
Sean McAuley, who played briefly for the Timbers in 2002, is a player/coach at Halifax Town. I believe last year he brought a few of the Timbers players over to do some training with the club. He also remains in touch with some of our fans, which is pretty cool. I think Sagare has the talent to play at a higher level than Conference. After coming back from Grimsby last year he had significantly improved his game and was one of the better players I saw all year. Don't be surprised if he doesn't end up in Portland again this season. The Timbers really want him back.
