    a question, who is our leading scorer in European first division football, Michael Bradley and we have him starting at the defensive midfield spot?? not sure about that, get the lad more towards the front. Having said that , I understand that we need to have our best 11 on the field and with the others that may be the best spot for me but he is a scoring machine right now.

    He plays center mid. He is scoring goals for his team at center mid. We will play him at center mid. Case closed.

    everyone has him at defensive centermid my point is to put him at offensive center mid, the case is not closed, it's only your opinion which I happen to disagree with. So you think we should play our most gifted scorer at defenseive center mid, his club does not so why should we.

    I can't wait for the day that the USMNT is good enough to never have to see this again:

    :rolleyes:

    Hope you have a few years to kill. He's still the best and most talented player in the US set up, and likely will be for some time. In the meantime i will take great joy in your disappointment.

    I've got plenty of years to kill and he's not even close to the best and most talented U.S. player... Penalty kicks equals talent huh? Hat tricks against thrid world nations? LMAO! He's' got speed, that's it. Adu, Altidore, Bradley & Dempsey all have more talent...

    Average crosser
    No Foot skill
    Can't score on free kicks
    Ill-placed corners
    Terrible in the air

    What a player....:rolleyes:

    Most of Brazil would be considered 3rd world. Parts of Argentina to. Also, this team qualified for the 2nd round of the World Cup with a match to play.

    Better than any other USA player other than Eddie Lewis and Steve Cherundolo. He's our most techinically gifted played other than Freddy.

    and yet game in game out he's our most dangerous 1v1 player, our most dangerous player with the ball at his feet, and our most consistent goal scorer, and the most most dangerous player on the break. How is this possible if he has no "foot skill"?

    no one in a US kit can.

    true

    And sumo wrestlers suck at sprinting.

    Third World talent, not economics...

    Don't forget Brad Davis...

    He's dangerous because of his speed, I guess he some foot skill, I suppose I should've said "footwork," i.e. Adu, Dempsey, Altidore...

    True, but then again, nobody else in a U.S. kit is labeled, "superstar." I think Freddy is more than capable if given the chance...

    Sumo wrestlers aren't expected to sprint, soccer players are expected to jump, fight for balls and score goals in the air...

    Third world talent? What the heck is that supposed to mean? Third world talent: Ronaldinho, Pele, Garrincha, Maradona, Drogba, Essien, Weah, etc. etc. etc. That line of reasoning makes no sense at all.

    Yeah, all players are expected to fight for things in the air, and 5'8" guys aren't typically expected to win those battles, nor should they be.

    Save yourself the trouble of making excuses and just type "I hate Donovan."

    Good lineup except switch Adu and Donovan and then switch Dempsey and Donovan. And then call Subotic:)D)

    Adu=CAM
    Dempsey=RM
    Donovan= withdrawn foward

    I hope that I can make myself clear, by my definition I'm saying "third world talent" meaning teams filled with players that are only good enough to play in "third world" leagues.... Players that will never leave Honduras, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador and so-on... Landon Donovan scored his hat trick against Ecuador, you know how many players they have playing in top European leagues? 0....
    Believe it or not Ecuador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Cuba, Belize and Guatemala aren't exactly the hot beds of a prodigious national soccer program...Argentina and Brazil have first rate programs and first rate players, just because certain aspects of the countries themselves could be considered "third world" doesn't mean their National Teams are, it's quite the opposite, they're top shelf...How many hat tricks does Donovan have against Brazil and Argentina? How many goals does he have against any teams outside of Concacaf that didn't come from the spot?....

    I HATE DONOVAN!!!

    I really like that line-up as well, and looking towards the future, what happens when Beasley gets healthy? Before the injury he had really gotten that swagger back and was eating up the Scots and CL. I like this:

    ----------------Altidore----Dempsey--------------------
    -Beasley---------------Adu------------------Donovan---
    --------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------Bradley-----------------------
    -Spector--------Boca------Onyewu?--------Dolo----------
    ----------------------Howard----------------------------

    I could also switch out Bradley for Edu or Clark and Onyewu for DeMerit or Parkurst and Dolo for Simek.

    This formation would be attack minded with Dempsey getting the ball to feet up top and Alitdore playing off him. A 4-1-4-1, pretty much like Arsenal in the CL.
