Long story short, that's probably not going to happen.

The previous owner - and founder - was a Columbia grad who is knee deep in the cutting edge of the internet. He has started or helped start and at least partially owned several outfits that even I had heard of. Like Squarespace. He gets them off the ground, sells them for a monster profit and moves on to the next thing.

He is a huge soccer fan who did BS just because he wanted to (his BigSoccer name was "Huss" and he was on regularly) although he also used to make a nice chunk of change from the BigSoccer shop as well. (Which was in reality World Soccer Shop with a false front)

(As an aside, I met him in 2001 when he came to Columbus for Dos a Cero and got some people to pass out fliers advertising BigSoccer.)

He was always tinkering and drove the techs crazy installing new stuff, sometimes before it should have been, just because he always wants to be at the forefront of the technology in everything he does. Old timers will recall the site going down for hours or days or,once or twice, a week or more because they installed something that crashed the whole damned thing and they'd essentially have to rebuild it.

A few years ago he decided to sell BS and tried to find a soccer lover to buy it. He couldn't and finally sold it to a very nice guy who operates about a zillion forums, on every topic you can imagine.I saw a partial list once, and it includes specialty forums for specific old cars (the 1940's Plymouth Forum, anyone?) and everything from quilting to bowling.

He's a great guy but he's not likely to do much more than keep it running. I don't think he makes much on it and isn't going to go in the hole for it.

 

And really, all you need to do is use any decent photo software to keep shrinking the picture until you get it the right size. Most computers have it as part of their photo viewer. Takes 5 min, tops.
