A Chilean website has stated that Italy will be playing Chile in New York. With Acosta the new coach for Chile to me it was no surprise that he wanted a re-match of France '98. Acosta take over the Chilean NT last week. Has anyone heard?
I'd actually murder other human beings for the chance to see this game, if indeed the rumor you mention is true. I saw Italy play Trinidad (if I recall) in New Haven and it is one of my fondest soccer memories.

http://diario.elmercurio.com/2005/0...cias/A1FAB0D6-59EF-4C84-964A-DD370B3343A7.htm It is in spanish but the Italian Soccer big guy turn down the game because of possible tie between Juve and AC Milan for serie a title. BTW the date showed June 11th.
Yeah, I would love to see this game. I've seen the NT play on a few occassions: WC '94, Portugal friendly, Costa Rica friendly. A shame it's not going to happen.
For anyone who hasnt seen the Azzurri play it is a shame, I saw them in 94 in a friendly vs Costa Rica, and then in the World Cup vs Norway, both experiences were wonderful.
Wait, Is italy playing Chile or what? Some people here are saying that is not going to happen? Please let me know.
No...................word is now Italy will be in Toronto at the Roger Center (Skydome) in June against Serbia, I think.
But this thread is saying that italy is to play chile in July? Is this just a rumor or what? I know Italy is playing in Toronto on the 8th and the 11th in Meadowlands in June.
Re: Italy v.s. Ecuador in June at Giants Stadium? Several media outlets have reported this as confirmed: ROME (AP) - Italy's soccer team will play two exhibition matches in North America following its final World Cup qualifier of the season. On June 8, Italy will face Serbia-Montenegro in Toronto. Three days later, the Italians will play Ecuador at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Italy played three games at Giants Stadium in the 1994 World Cup, losing to Ireland 1-0 and beating Norway 1-0 in group play, then defeating Bulgaria 2-1 in the semifinals. Italy coach Marcello Lippi will announce his team's roster for the matches after its World Cup qualifier in Norway on June 4.
Re: Italy v.s. Ecuador in June at Giants Stadium? Bring BAGGIO to the game. More people would go watch just to see BAGGIO play.
