A team that is composed of the Israeli and Palestinian national side will play against a Spainish side in Spain on December 27 of this year.

Now before anyone says anything, I am pro-Israel, my goal is to one day make Aaliyah to Eretz Israel, where I shall raise a family and live out the rest of my days in the Jewish homeland. I support Israel and always stand in solidarity with her always. In terms of the palestinains, let me say this I am a Zionist, and no Zionism in NOT racism.

I wish that this thread be about the Peace match and not about Politics, if anyone wants to talk politics PM me.

I'm very happy that they are continuing this tradition.
FC Barcelona and Peres should be applauded.
I would love to get a t-shirt of this match.

I know you said you don't want this to be about politics, but what exactly does that mean?

it means that because some people associate zionism with being a racist movement which is against the palestenians, it really has nothing racist about it since it only means the dream of living in israel on the holy land for the jews.
or at least i beileve thats what he meant...

That's very respectable and encouraging for the future! I think that the politicians on both sides have to learn a lot from these brave guys.

One of the Palestinian goalkeepers is on trial at Maccabi Ahi Nazareth. He is trying to get Israeli citizenship in order to play because Nazareth have already reached their limit with foreignors.

How many Palestinian (not Israeli-Arab, but born and raised in the West Bank/Gaza) players are there in the top 3 Israeli leagues?

    Israel/Palestine 1 - 3 Andalusia

The Spanish fans were waving Palestinian flags, and NO Israeli flags. ASSHOLES!! But I expect classless shit like that from the Spanish....Andalusians, or what ever the F**k they call themselves.

I'm not surprised with the result or the fans, but you really shouldn't use foul language and insult others for having an opinion that is not yours. If they all had Israeli flags would they be great then. I know the whole point of the match was to promote solidarity and peace between 2 groups of people that have been at war with each other for a very long time.

Almost of Europe is moderately liberal to Socialist and pro-Palestinian....in fact, I can't name any other country in the world besides the USA, who would have Israeli flags at an exhibition game like this. This is the Chicago Walk with Israel. My wife and I participated 3 yrs in it...lots of fun and you get to walk along the beautiful Chicago skyline with 10-20,000 other Chicago Jews.
These are a few friends of ours from our synagogue, an Extremely nice family. They lived in Israel for 10 years.

"The proceeds from the match were to go toward financing schools in Palestinian territories in a project sponsored by the Andalusian regional government."

Ok Shimon Peres was the person who help put this together, he is definately pro-peace and also read the excerpt above from the article.
    You shouldn't be surprised.

WOW! I had no idea. Sounds like this was a propaganda stunt with no real chance for progress. Why in the H#LL did they call the side Israel/Palestine?

Not all of us that post here are Israeli, some of us have never been to the holy land, but we all have the common love for the Israeli National Team.
