Thierry Henry, Nery Castillo, Omar Bravo, Mista, Blaise Nkufu, Branko Boskovic. Also rumored are Ronaldinho, Rafa Marquez, among others.

Is this the best transfer window in MLS history?

Bring Ronaldinho Diego and Veron and I'll be happy, but it is shaping up to be.

I gotta say it: it needs Riquelme, and yes, Ronaldinho would cinch this as the best year ever.

Its the best by far, hopefully more renueve comes in, better TV deals, more sponsors & more fans at the games. I wish it only improve every year far better signings in the future. These signings bring more excitement to MLS!!!

Yes. It's been cool that we got a huge star in Henry plus a young player in Castillo with more possibly on the way. This has been a great year for soccer in America. Houston and KC get stadium deals, the World Cup gets awesome viewership and the US gets out of the group, and MLS is making a splash in the transfer market. Attendance isn't bad either.

The Galaxy will pay for his orthodontics. That alone will cost a million bucks.

On principal alone, can we take Mista off this list? It insults the rest of the talented players mentioned. That signing should get Mo Johnston fired. It ranks up there with the Denilson signing by FCD.

I would say we need to wait a year, we can't go off just big names, we need performances.

Rafa Marquez and Ronaldinho should come to LA galaxy.

Marquez in the back with Omar Gonazlez would be sick. Mentoring him.

Are teams still allowed to trade designated player spots?

people only see part of the effect that these older players bring. think how much of an impression is made on the young guys by players like henry, gbs, jpa, nkufo, and david beckham, someone mentioned that rafa marquez could mentor omar gonzalez in la. that would be awesome, although he might recruit him for mexico.

No, each club gets two and can buy a 3rd for a set dollar amount that gets evenly spread across clubs that don't have a 3rd DP as allocation money.

To the OP, the answer is yes. However, MLS NEEDED to make this the best transfer window in history. The off-season was a fiasco in terms of new player signings, and with the liberalized DP rules and increased cap and new stadia, and coming off the WC, this was the ideal time to bring in big signings.

I hope the signings are not over, yet.

That would be four DPs and will not happen. But adding either Ronaldinho OR Rafa would be tremendous!

Can we add Alvaro Fernandez to the list?? The trend of signing younger DPs is extremely encouraging! :D

Considering the Galaxy have given up (I think) 8 goals so far this year (and they had a great defense last year too), having Berhalter mentor Gonzalez so far hasn't been such a bad thing. Red Bulls need Marquez way worse and he can mentor Ream there if they desire.
