I've compiled a list of all friendlies being played by the national teams leading up to the World Cup. Sorry I cannot replicate the table here at BigSoccer. You can view it HERE. I will be updating the TV info as it becomes available. It all starts today with: Germany v Poland @ 2:45pm ET LIVE on Univision Deportes + espn3.com Then, on Saturday (17th) @ 2:30pm ET its Netherlands v Ecuador LIVE on ESPN Deportes & espn3.com SA www.soccertvblog.com
socceraction, I checked out your listing of friendlies and loved it. I noticed new information on several of the matches. I hope you don't mind me ennumerating the changes/additions (bold and underlined) for your use on the listings: May 26 Russia – Slovakia k.o. 11:00 am espn3 and ESPN Deportes May 30 England – Peru k.o. 3:00 pm Fox Sports 2 May 30 Spain – Boliva k.o. 4 :00 pm espn3 and ESPN Deportes May 30 Bosnia-Ivory Coast ko 8:30 pm May 31 Portugal-Greece k.o. 2:30 pm espn3 and ESPN Deportes June 1 Germany- Cameroon k.o. 2:30 pm espn3 June 1 France-Paraguay k.o. 3pm espn3 June 1 Honduras-Israel ko. 9:00 pm June 4 Netherlands-Wales k.o. 2:30 pm espn3 and ESPN Deportes June 4 England-Ecuador k.o 3:00 pm beIN June 4 El Salvador – Ivory Coast k.o 9:00 pm June 6 Russia-Morocco k.o 10:00 am espn3 / delayed ESPN Deportes 12:00 pm June 6 Germany-Armenia k.o 2:45 pm espn3 June 6 Greece-Bolivia k.o. 8:00 pm June 7 Spain-El Salvador k.o. 4:00 pm (DH with MLS – DC Utd v. Columbus 6:30 pm) June 7 England-Honduras k.o 4:45 pm beIN Sources are TV listings, watchESPN, ESPN international programming grid, and, or the Road to Brazil domesticly-based matches ticket and arena sites
During halftime of the La Liga relegation telecast this afternoon, beIN listed 18 matches, including those "Road to Brazil" matches being played in the US, that they will be showing. The date and matchups only were shown, no additional details or times were given. Those matches listed were: Wed, May 28 - Denmark v. Sweden Thu, May 29 - Turkey v. Honduras Fri, May 30 - Uruguay v. Northern Ireland Fri, May 30 - Bosnia v. Ivory Coast Sat, May 31- Norway v. Russia Sat, May 31 - Italy v. Ireland Sun, June 1 - Honduras v. Israel Mon, June 2 - Japan v. Costa Rica Tue, June 3- Greece v. Nigeria Wed, June 4- England v. Ecuador Wed, June 4- Uruguay v. Slovenia Wed, June 4- Argentina v. Trinidad and Tobago Thu, June 5 - Ivory Coast v. El Salvador Thu, June 5 - Chile v. Northern Ireland Fri, June 6 - Japan v. Zambia Sat, June 7 - England v. Honduras Sat, June 7 - Greece v. Bolivia Sat, June 7 - Spain v. El Salvador (Interesting that beIN even got the Uruguay home friendlies being played in Montevideo...those would have surely been on GOLTV in the past)
Here are a couple of new ones.... May 26 - 4:00 pm Serbia v. Jamaica Red Bull Arena (Harriaon, NJ) PPV - $24.95/34.99 (HD) May 31 - 8:00 pm Serbia v. Panama Toyota Park (Bridgeview, IL) PPV - $24.95/34.99 (HD) Some other notes: June 3 match Greece v. Nigeria in Chester, PA has a 7:00 pm kickoff When Spain-El Salvador was made part of DH with DC MLS match, it was moved from June 6 to June 7 at 4pm May 27 France v. Norway will be carried by TV5Monde
Thanks HD. I was updating the page as you were typing it seems. In addition to the above, I added all the matches now confirmed on the various Univision Networks. I noticed that Univision has many of the same matches beINSport announced so I am assuming beIN has the English-language rights only for those. Anyway, many, many updates so check them out HERE. SA www.soccertvblog.com PS. Serbia friendlies not included in table as not involving WC teams.
Paying $25 to see a soccer game on tv is so last century. Speaking about it, who is going to pay that money to watch non world cup teams with their B lineups? I would love to see how much money ppv earns on those games. It may not cover transmission costs.
I guess this should be no surprise, but already I notice changes in scheduling. beIN Sports Play has updated its schedule through May 30th, and while Bosnia-Ivory Coast is listed for beIN, a unpreviously announced match, Chile v. Egypt is listed for the Spanish channel, although at a kick off time considerable earlier than the announced time. And not listed at all is a match announced by beIN just this past weekend, Uruguay v. Northern Ireland. (Chile-Egypt will be seen on delay on beIN at 11 pm)
Does not involve a World Cup side but GOL-TV will be showing the friendly between Rep. of Ireland v Turkey, Sunday, May 25th LIVE @ 1:00pm ET. SA www.soccertvblog.com
GOLTV will also show a match that does involve a World Cup side on Wed, May 28 - 3:00 pm Nigeria v. Scotland (from London) as well as another one that does not- Fri, May 30 - 2:30 pm Austria v. Iceland Speaking of May 30th, those watching England v. Peru can avoid the dreaded ticker by watching the match on Fox Deportes, who is also carrying the match instead of Fox Sports 2
New listing...Sat 10 am Croatia v. Mali will be carried live by GOLTV. Meanwhile, games advertised so far have been more absent than shown. Monday's Russia-Slovakia match make it onto ESPN Deportes, but both the English and Spanish streams were not carried. And today's France-Norway match, listed to be on Univision Deportes on the Univision Futbol horarios site (but never added to UDep TV listings) was not on either. This past weekend, beIN's pre-WC friendly package was raised from 18 to 22, but they only showed a few highlisghts, a good idea since the Uruguay - Nrthern Ireland match was originally announced for Friday, and is absent as Chile-Egypt was added, apparently instead.
One more thing, when beIN figured out the correct time of Friday's Chile-Egypt match was 8:30 pm EDT, and not 7 pm, they revised their schedule on both channels: beIN: 8:25 pm Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Côte d'Ivoire (Live) 10:30 pm Chile vs. Egypt (SDD) beIN-ñ 8:25 pm Chile vs. Egypt (Live) 10:30 pm Bosnia and Herzegovina vs. Côte d'Ivoire (SDD) I am hoping that beIN will fix their Sports Play site, which currently returns a blank screen, in order to see any changes to their streaming schedule (e.g. the possibility of stream-only matches being added due to scheduling conflicts).
Did that France-Norway match actually air on Univision Deportes? I didn't see it on the on-screen guide on DTV, and didn't mess with a manual recording.
A couple of posts back, I explained that it was NOT on.....there seems to always be confusion regarding broadcast rights with the internationals. However Univision's horarios futbol site still has that match listed: Hoy, Martes, 27 de Mayo EventoHoraEquipos¿Donde Lo Veo?Ver Más Amistoso Internacional 02:30 PM ET Francia vs. Noruega Univision Deportes Match Center Amistoso Internacional 09:00 PM ET Estados Unidos vs. Azerbayán Univision Deportes POR UNIVISIONDEPORTES.COM Match Cente
so Panama vs Serbia is on PPV? yes, time to gather the boys in front the TV. what about Panama vs Brazil on June 3rd, will it be broadcast here in USA?
Colombia v Senegal on May 31st will be live on both beINSport channels Brazil v Panama on June 3rd will be live on both beINSport channels. Updated list: http://soccertvblog.com/intl-friendlies/ SA
Thanks Socceraction. And according to this site Colombia's match against Jordan will be on BEIN Español. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/thegoalkeeper/TV-schedule-for-pre-World-Cup-friendlies.html
A couple of kick off time adjustments plus additions (for beIN-1 only...I do not have the spanish channel updates as of now) Saturday's Norway v. Russia, which is live on Sports Play, will be seen on delay t 11:30 am on beIN (delay due to telecast of that never-ending bike race) Sat: Columbia-Senegal k.o. is at 5 pm Sun: Honduras-Israel k.o. is at 9 pm Tue, June 3 - Brazil v. Panama will be shown on beIN k.o. is 3pm Wed, June 4 - beIN lists three games live for this day: 3p: England-Ecuador, 6p: Argentina-Trinidad, 9p: El Salvador v. Ivory Coast (the k.o. or th middle game is in question...I think beIN might be wrong on this one, but that is how it is currently scheduled on TV) Chile-Northern Ireland is scheduled on one-day-delay for Thu, June 5 at 6:30 pm (why is it not on at 11 pm on Wed?). I expect it can be seen live either on the Spanish station or definitely on Sports Play, bu have not seen listings as of yet) Uruguay-Slovenia, like Uruguay's previous friendly has apparently disappeared from the beIN schedule. Fri, Jun 6- Brazil v. Serbia is on beIN at 3 pm ko (+Greece-Bolivia at 8p)
Correction ...despite beIN TV listings to the contrary, Honduras-Israel is 8pm ko. and is backed up by their Sports Play listings. beIN finally completed posting its Sport Play listings and Chile v. Northern Ireland will be live on Wed --they list ko as 7pm Argentina v. Trinidad & Tobago is listed as 6 pm ko. While I have seen different times for these matches, I have also found listings that match these times and realize that these friendlies times are changed with regularity and I will go with the beIN times. That is probably why they are taking so long to post their listings despite less matches to contend with as opposed to when the domestic leagues are in action. Zambia v. Japan will also be carried live on beIN Sportsplay Fri, June 6 with a 7:30 pm ko Sorry, sa, hope I am not driving you crazy with al these changes
On the contrary, its very much appreciated. Dealing with my daughter's graduation tonight. Will not update until Friday am when hopefully beIN and other sites will have all of their updates together. SA
