Everyone, I had the opportunity to interview Frank DuRoss President of the Rochester Rhinos about the future of the team in regards to the USL 1st Division and MLS expansion. Here's how it went: http://www.soccerloop.com/ Steve Patton
Thanks for sharing. Short of accusing DuRoss of dodging the issue, it sounds as if he's treading delicately on the subject of Rhinos/MLS. Strictly IMO: The way the league appears to have embarrassed itself in its San Antonio dealings, it would seem MLS would be more amenable to approaching a successful existing operation. Perhaps if all goes well with Paetek once its up & running...
Or it would seem more amenable for Rochester to get and secure a more solid ownership group that can handle the costs of running an MLS club. I'm really tired of people making MLS out to be "the bad guy" here. Get an ownership group, and you're in.
