This will be overlap with Olympic qualifiers in Guadalajara, which will leave a few guys out.

    My 23....

    GK: Steffen, Guzan, Johnson
    FB: Dest, Yedlin, Ream, Chandler
    CB: Long, Brooks, Zimm, Miazga
CM: Mckennie, Adams, Morales, Bradley (only because Yueill will be with the U23s)
AM: Pulisic, Morris, Arriola, Lletget, Boyd, Reyna
FW: Zardes, Altidore (if health, Sargent if not)

    take out / replace
    Bradley / Pomykal
    ream / ARobinson
    Miazga / someone not injured
    lletget / Holmes
    Boyd / Llanez
    Arriola / weah or Ledesma
    altidore / sargent

    Maybe
Chandler/Cannon (I would definitely replace if it wasn’t in Europe)

Some of those guys belong with the Olympic group, Sargent doesn't belong with the national team right now and I'd be alright with Robinson but he's been bad every time he plays for us.

Holmes was an oversight on my part, and I didn't know Miazga was hurt

Bradley is terrible for the USMNT - if he’s playing, he needs to be compensated for so he cannot be a substitute for us. That only leaves him as a starter and we’re way past that point. I wouldn’t count on any Europeans being released for the Olympic qualifiers as they’re under no obligation to do so.

min down on sargent but his ceiling is higher than our other options and I think he could learn how to find space like Zardes does. Altidore will be injured and even if he isn’t, we shouldn’t stress his body until we get close to the Hex - he’s a known entity.

Robinson isn’t bad every time he plays for the US that’s ridiculous.

Sargent absolutely belongs with the national team.

It's really hard to speculate about this roster. Kreis has indicated he expects to get a bunch of Euro guys for Olympic qualifying. Ledezma, De la Feunte, Llanez, Mendez, Richards, etc...basically all of the guys not with their respective first teams on a regular basis. And I think he or Berhalter stated that MLS guys who might have "graduated," but were still age eligible like Cannon, Yueill, Pomykal, etc. would be with the U-23s for qualifying, not the senior team.

So, if that's right, I'd guess the roster is going to be over-23 Euro guys (Yedlin, Brooks, Morales, Steffen, etc.), U23 Euro guys too important to their teams to be released for qualifying (Pulisic, McKennie, Adams, etc.), and over-23 MLSers to fill in. Maybe we see Reyna if Dortmund doesn't want to lose him for all of qualifying? But I doubt we'll see many of the younger, lesser known guys that people are excited about.

id say theres a zero point zero percent chance of more than 2 euro based players being released for oq. ill be shocked if there are 2.

I don't know. I'm not going to dig it up now, but I posted an article from SBISoccer in the Olympic qualifying thread last week or so with an interview with Kreis where he rattles off the names of 7 or 8 Euro guys who he is confident of getting. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on his part, but he even made some crack about how Euro teams can be more accommodating than MLS teams these days.

Kreis also said he's not counting on the likes of Tyler Adams or Christian Pulisic to be available for Oly qualifying tournament. "Players that are contributing week and week out for the 1st team in major divisions...I think we have to say those guys are not available." #usmnt

We don't need to win, but we need to show well. A blowout would raise serious doubts about the coaching. This is Gregg's big chance.

I think getting adams, Weston, brooks and Pulisic time to gel together is vitally important at this stage.

    Pulisic will be cutting inside.
Yedlin or Chandler will be sticking to the touchline.
    Robinson will be overlapping.
    Dest will be underlapping.
The central midfield will be somewhat left-shifted to cover for Pulisic.
