Precautionary decission to held Olympic Games without fans is a right one.
32% of Japan's people are already vaccinated (20% fully) but those are mostly senior citizens plus medical staff. Mass event still poses a threat of country wide spread as opposed to one time match in area where the number of new cases is low.

Who knows... perhaps at the end of the month number of new cases in Tokyo will drop and IOC+Japan gov decide to allow for limitted number of fans for the play-offs?

    A mini-tournament in Turks & Caicos will be held July 29 - Aug 3.

Teams: Turks & Caicos, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands & the Bahamas.

Are all of these teams ranked in FIFA-rankings?

None of them are in the current women's rankings, I guess due to inactivity. However, unlike several other C'CAF teams, all four are eligible for official FIFA rankings (all of their respective men's teams are ranked; all four are in the bottom seven among C'CAF men's teams).

None are ranked @blissett . Have no clue the last time the British Virgin Islands played. Cayman Islands & Turks & Caicos last played in the 2014 Caribbean Cup. Bahamas last match may have been in 2002.

Road trip. I love Provo, amazing place.

And I wonder what they mean by "closed to the public." Could we stand around the fence and watch? The national stadium is basically a training ground with small stands (3,000 capacity?).

Probably could still watch them behind the fence if there is a good view. Obviously can't be in the stands.

Maybe, maybe not. The field is part of a complex and in the back away from the main road. I'd have to walk down/drive down the access road, which could easily be closed off.

edit - I should note I'm talking fantasy. I wouldn't ever go the Caribbean during hurricane season any more. Had a wedding several years back almost get cancelled because a tropical storm went through a few days prior, and didn't know what damage might occur.

It's indeed very important to recognize your particular variety of Virgin Islands. :coffee:

I know the British Virgin Islands have played, but considering they haven't played in almost 20 years isn't surprising to see them drop out of the mini-tournament.

**found out they last played in the 2006 World Cup qualifiers. Losing to the US Virgin Islands 3-1 & 5-0.

The Virgin derby: one of the most sought-after rivalries in the world. The event only happens once each two or three decades, so you sure don't want to miss it! :sneaky:

A great resource for women's international friendlies is no more. The Roonba.com will shutter on September 12th. No further updates will occur.

Was it a very important resource? I don't use to take track very accurately of international friendlies, so I can't really know.

It's anyway very sad when a source of information disappears. :(

the lesser known friendlies & smaller tournaments would be put on there. Not too many sources for smaller countries and their friendlies. Too bad FIFA stopped listing fixtures& results themselves about three years ago.

Bahamas team. Cool kits from Hummel. Must be the away set? I suppose they should have more blue in the home kit. Number two and three standing from right have to be twins, right? :cautious:

This in particular has annoyed me to no end... Not only was that a sensible feature on its own, but I would often use it to probe the official rankings/ratings.
