Can anybody tell me something about this player. He signed a contract for Anderlecht. What are his strong points? What are his weak points? What do you expect from him in the future?
He played with the YWC team that were crowned champs ... along Messi, Aguero, Ustari, Gago He had a descent tournament. He is a fighting midfielder with a descent foot. Very young obviously. Behind Aguero and Ustari, was the next player in importance at Independiente. NT coach Pekerman was keeping an eye on him for a possible inclusion in the NT. He was not ready for the WC at all IMHO ... but still was being "eyed" by the coaches. My only concern is that his characteristics are not of a fast player ... in Europe the tempo is much faster and he might suffer at the beginning til he gets adjusted and can compensate the lack of speed with field position and skill. He is a good prospect ... hopefully he will further develop playing there. Frutos came from the same team, which leads me to believe that there is a player agent with good contacts involved in all of this too. .
Our manager has told the Belgian press that Anderlecht has a very good view on the Argentinian football. He has some very good contacts over there. Apparently, Anderlecht would have a good reputation in Argentina according to Biglia. After Frutos and Cristian Leiva is Biglia already our third Argentinian player in 6 months. Other names that were mentionned earlier were Civelli (but he signed for Marseille) and Armenteros. Biglia is still young and I hope that he will adapt fast to the European way of playing. He has Frutos and Leiva with him to adapt fastly to the European lifestyle and he already declared that he wants to learn French so that is certainly a positive mentality of this young boy! I hope he will become as succesful as Frutos was in the last six months!
Armenteros is a good prospect too. Another YWC champ that moved to Independiente from Banfield. Very interesting player. There are not many left footed wingers/left midfielders in Argentinian footie ... he is one of them, and has good field vision. .
Adapting to the fast pace in Europe will not be a problem, because the Belgian League is not known for its insane tempo :d (like in england) . Except for the 6 Champions League matches Anderlecht will play. I'm very interested in how well Frutos & Biglia will play against top european sides. And what about this Leiva-bloke ? We now know Frutos and i had seen Biglia play several times, but Leiva is a complete unknown player to me. I guess he isn't very fast either ? Could you compare him with Gravesen (with technique), or rather a sort of Gatusso (but not that good?) is it true his shot is one of his major qualities ?
Meanwhile, there are some staring rumours about Anderlecht being interested in Leandro Gracian. The first interest for Anderlecht is Boussoufa from Gent, but Gent asks too much money for the moment. It would seem as our manager has already another option if the deal with Boussoufa would be nothing. Are there any Argentinian newspapers or sportsites or whatever who are talking about this interest?
I am watching the Milan - Anderlecht match, and Biglia is playing great. I feel really confident for the future, with all these young players being so talented already.
Biglia was named Rookie of the year in belgium, after playing only 6 months here. The Belgian Golden Boot (player of the year) was also awarded : 1. Mbark Boussoufa (Marocco) ANDERLECHT 2. Mohammed Tchite (Belgium/Congo/Burundi/...) ANDERLECHT 3. Nicolas Frutos (Argentina) ANDERLECHT 4. Lucas Biglia (Argentina) ANDERLECHT 5. Karel Geeraerts (Belgium) Standard Liege 6. Daniel Zitka (Czech) ANDERLECHT
Biglia scored in Anderlechts win and is now champion http://www.goal.com/en-us/Articolo.aspx?ContenutoId=302166
I am glad to hear Biglia is doing well. I thought he could be one of the top prospects for Argentina in the future, but it's hard to tell when they're so young.
