Now that the pain and bitterness have subsided, ok, it's still there coursing through my veins destroying the possibility of joy in each horrid waking moment (but what are you gonna do?) what is everyone's plan for the Final? I for one intend to show that in spite of the set backs on the field that DC folks can bring it off. In style to boot. This will be achieved by a cunning combination of nuclear strength Belgian beer, a complete lack of concern about the results on the day (ideal = NE 10 HOU 10, pks featuring 9 horribile misses, 5 red cards, and a bench clearing brawl that shames the league), and a hearty breakfast. It'd be nice to see a high degree of blackout still in effect and some kind words for the Mayor ("Take Our Team From the City and We Will Cut Your Heart Out!"). K. PS I know since it's NE v. Hou it'll be a dire 1:0 that crushes the spirit. That's why God invented booze. And the pitch invasion............
Which we haven't pulled off at RFK since the playoff defeat of NY in '96. That was based upon pure joy...Etch taken down in the box in the 89th minute and Raul putting home the PK for the win. There will be no such joy at this match. I will be there, but only because I risked all and bought six tickets for my family over a month ago. I knew better, but there was always hope. I'll make sure all of us are wearing black... Rather appropriate, don't you think?
My son and I will be in our usual front row seats in 133 with DC United kit on and a sign that suggests that winning the most points all year makes you the Champion.
I'll be there section 133 in DCU gear. What makes this even more painful is the long drive but it is the last chance to see some folks, have a morning beer, and see one last soccer game before the cold winter. Anybody know who is playing?
We'll be there tailgating with Hefeweizen and Begian Trippel and Single Malt Scotch and may not decide to go in to see the game - Our seats are scattered in the upper deck - Mine are in Section 410, Row 5 - And we'll be wearing Black & Red
I'll head down for Duffman's Breast Cancer Fundraiser but I'm selling my tickets. I'm waiting for the beginning of the 2008 season.
its funny to see which supporters are selling there seats.....i will take the 40 hit and have noone in my seat in 135, rather have it empty then to get 40 bucks or whatever
And here I opened this thread thinking I'd be seeing boob pictures in honor of Duff's fundraiser. I'll be there, cheering for Jay Heaps to get injured.
Sunday afternoon? I'll be watching NFL, there is no chance im gonna watch some team win a trophy in our house. I didnt watch in 2000 and I wont watch in 2007.
1. Show up to Duff's fundraiser 2. Drink 3. Repeat 2 until 1 cannot be recalled 4. Attend game 5. Heckle both teams, sing "Taylor Twellman is the POTY" until hoarse 6. Repeat 2 until 4 and 5 cannot be recalled Hey, when you're already in for a damn cross-country flight and a ticket, why not?
I am thinking of wearing my Barra colors and sitting on the front rail with back to "game" while playing cards with Matt and Annette! GM
2 rolls of nickels tightly bound in duct tape in your pocket: $4 2 six packs of Victory Hop Devil: $14 DC bail: $500 A Heaps or a Reis fan with a couple of broken teeth: priceless
I will be there in the SE section. I am still looking to get a four-person team together for the Supporters Cup if anyone wants to play.
