This one is more serious...Secretary of State is an almost unique (SecDef fits too) cabinet post in that the role involves representing the US as a whole to the world. Pompeo didn't do that...his entire tenure was presenting Trumpism, not US interests.

I don't know about Chuck, but I'll bet you a million internet dollars that Nancy and Joe have talked and decided that the best strategy is shock and awe. We've already seen it with Joe with the EOs and firings. (The PATCO call back was instructive, I think.) Here's Nancy.

If I could ask the Democrats to do, say, 3 things, 1 of them would be to ignore GOP bleatings about the deficit. And another would be to adopt a hard line, no compromise position that without repentance and accountability, there will NOT be reconciliation.

OK, I guess I have to come up with a 3rd thing now. OK, they should ignore and/or disdain the incoming tsunami of bad faith arguments from the GOP and the media. That "Joe has a Peloton" article was alarming...not its content, but its existence.
