As predicted by Lennon & McCartney back in 1965, here is one fan's summary of his relationship with the team at this time. Feel free to check your copy of Rubber Soul. Okay, your parents' copy. To those in uniform: I'm looking through you - where did you go? I thought I knew you - what did I know? You don't look different, but you have changed. I'm looking through you, you're not the same! To Ray: Your lips are moving, I cannot hear. Your voice is soothing, but the words aren't clear. You don't sound different, I've learned the game, I'm looking through you, you're not the same! To the organization: Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right? Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight. To the ticket office: You're thinking of me the same old way You were above me, but not today. The only difference is you're down there. I'm looking through you, and you're nowhere! The recap: Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right? Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight. With sincerest apologies to Sir J. P. McC. and J. W. O. L., MBE. Feel free to discuss. -G. I like to think of Ray Hudson more as Jay Gatsby. All of these trialists he brings in are "the green light" (Daisy), when he could find someone more realistic and not spoken for (Jordan Baker). Hudson, like Gatsby, speaks wild-eyed of dreams and plans, on the surface is a likeable figure, and will probably end up a tragic figure. Further; AEG - Dr TJ Eckleburg Etcheverry - Meyer Wolfsheim Fans - residents in the valley of ashes or Nick Carraway "Though Gatsby's power to transform his dreams into reality is what makes him "great," Nick reflects that the era of dreaming—both Gatsby's dream and the American dream—is over"
Where the hell did this insight come from? From gatorade spitting incident endorser to enlightened literary/sport critic...makes the mind spin. By the way, well done, both Bryan and Gunnersaurus. Tim
Gunnersaurus - well done, one of my favorite Beatles songs as an indictment of the franchise. Stunning.
