with about 25 fellow Red Bull/Metro fans and I hope it will be a good match. But I have a non soccer question. On Sunday at 11am the Giants are playing the Ravens and since my flight doesn't leave until 4:30 1) Will this game be shown locally in Salt lake 2) if not do you have any suggestions as to where I can catch the game Thanks, and may the better team win on saturday
I'm pretty sure Lumpy's will be showing the game on sunday. Call them to verify Salt Lake City, Utah, at (866) 417-6972
Um, welcome to Utah. We don't watch sports on Sundays. Sorry. Just kidding! The Skybox near downtown Salt Lake has tons of TVs and would probably put the game on one of them for you. I'm sure there are other sports bars as well
Well if you are near the stadium then Iggy's would probably have the game on.Iggy's is at: 10631 south Holiday Park Dr. Sandy, UT 84070 801-495-1885
Yes the location is confidential, I will not know until I get there. All I was told was that show up at the airport and make a call and someone will pick me up (or leave standing at on the sidewalk with my RBNY gear)
And downtown there is Iggys, Lumpys, or Skybox. I would suggest Lumpys, they have private TVs in each of the booths, and well as TVs all over the place. Lumpys: 145 Pierpont Ave Salt Lake City, UT 84101 (801) 938-3070
The 11:00 Fox game is still showing up as TBA. However, I would suggest that you find a good bar to watch it at, so that you can drown your misery from the night before.
But CBS has broadcast rights for AFC road games. CBS is broadcasting the Giants in most of the NE part of the country and midwest. Here in Utah, they are broadcasting Denver @ Atlanta - they always think that Utahns are Broncos fans. Thus, unless you have some kind of NFL all-access package (like most sports bars), you will not be able to watch the Giants game here.
That doesn't sound suspicious at all. I would never be skeptical of showing up at an airport to wait in a particular wardrobe for an unknown person coming to pick you up to take you to an undisclosed location.
I did it for the '94 world cup. I flew to Dallas with no ticket to the Argentina v. Bulgaria game but a friend told me of a group of Argentines that would be at the airport a couple of hours before the game and they would pick up any Argentine wearing game gear and have tickets for them for $20. So I flew there and stood on the curb for a couple of hours. A van showed up, asked me in Spanish if I was waiting to go to the game, I said "yes" and they took me and had a ticket for me. It was an adventure. Looking back on it I was crazy to do that...
And I rode in a Dodge Caravan in the back, where the luggage goes. There were well over 10 people in there. I didn't count, didn't care, but I was very hot. All I could see was this guy's sweaty t-shirt in front of me for the 30 minutes or so we were in the van. I ran into a missionary companion there who gave me a ride back to the airport that evening so it ended tame.
