Mourinho plays a lot of mind games with players to raise their game. With Pogba, Jose pressed all the wrong buttons thinking it would get Paul going, to get it in his head he had something to prove. I don't think Pogba saw it that way. After that the animosity grew and it became a contest of wills, with both one wanting the other to leave the club. To me, their relationship was very similar to the one between Ferguson and Beckham towards the end. With Beckham, Ferguson got tired of the media circus Becks attracted, but in this case I think it's a matter of Mourinho wanting Pogba to run harder. It's very clear Pogba prefers to play long balls and leave the hard running for someone else to do. France have Kante for that, but United doesn't.

    This.

I saw a similar analysis of the Arsenal collapse under Emery. It was under appreciated how much of Arsenal's goal production came from Ozil+Alexis (and some Giroud thrown in)

Once that got broken, the team has the data of 10th place side - even with an elite 9

Trying to say it is all about one player is too simplistic when you don't have a functional midfield.

The guy is hungry for trophies and success. He helps new teammates settle in (Bruno), mentors and talks about pushing young upstarts like Greenwood.
    What an infectious virus...

    How quickly things change...

Just hope that this will not be a license for Woodward and co to rest on their laurels. We've got to capitalize on things like this (or Bruno's arrival, the team reaching 3rd place this past season and so on).
If we don't, the same thing that happened a couple of years back will repeat itself and all the good we've seen in recent months will be undone.

This makes that video above look like an incredibly poor decision in hindsight.

Ndombele tested positive too but that wasn't even worth a mention in the story on the front page of the BBC (and many other news sites too no doubt).

I hope both are asymptomatic and haven't spread it to anyone else.

Our players are idiots. Between this and Maguire, how hard is it to social distance when you have more money then God? Going on vacation doesn't make COVID-19 disappear.

Im not blaming Pogba for this loss today, but this has to be said.

The mistakes he made today sum up his game. He cant defend and doesnt want to defend.

Combine that with the backline we have....

Seriously, I just do not understand how nor why he keeps on receiving a form of immunity when we bought Donny van de Beek for the purpose of competing against Pogba should things go wrong. After Pogba's recovery from COVID, it's clear that he is not up to speed with the desired levels of performance as of now.

If Pogba doesn't want to play for the team when they ned him, then he needs to sit out and let Donny run the show. At least, the Dutchman will keep on fighting even if it might take time to find his feet in the English game.

Ole & coaches need to snap to the fact that every team is double- & triple-teaming Pogba. He should realize this, too; he has very little time on the ball when he receives it. Just 1 thing of many that has to change.

Romano just said that if Covid didnt happen, Pogba would be playing for Juventus today. Hes said they were ready to make a large bid and Pogba wanted the move. But with Covid the financials fell apart.

I wouldnt be surprised if it happens next summer.
