What tactics and formation would you use? Who would you include in your squad? Is there a player you would build the team around? I don't mean it in the sense of Portugal and Ronaldo. I mean it like how the Spanish NT was sort of built around Xavi. Everything pretty much ran through him.

    I would pick 4-3-3

    something like

    --------------Hart

    Walker----Cahill----Jones---Gibbs

    -----Carrick---Barkley---Wilshere

    ------Townsend---Sturridge---Wickham

Only one guy picked Sterling? Do you guys feel he's overrated? I think he's got the highest potential out of anyone that was picked for the recent world cup team. Do you guys think you have the players to build a possession based squad? would a counter-attack style like argentina fit your players more?

    GK: Hart
    LB: Baines*
    CB: Cahill*
    CB: Jones
    RB: Walker

    LCM: Henderson
    CM: Wilshere
    RCM: Barkley

    LW: Rooney
    ST: Sturridge
    RW: Sterling

*1) Baines still has the starting job for now, but if Shaw continues to climb and Baines starts to slip quickly then the job is Shaw's.

*2) Cahill has been shaky and I would love to see Caulker get a shot. He's really solid when its his day.

*3) Still would call up Gerrard and Carrick. If Gerrard keeps having solid starts for Liverpool then you have to keep giving him a chance.

We have a lot of speed up front in reserve with Walcott, Townsend, and Ox. We also have Redmond coming up as well. Welbeck can also play as a striker/winger.

If England could find 3 decent CBs they have the rest of the players to play a 3-4-3. Sadly the CBs are the limiting factor here.

For me the front 7 would be

    Townsend-Ox- Wilshere-Gibbs

    Sterling - Welbeck - Sturridge

The idea would be play back to front and high pressure for 60 minutes, then shift to a more possession based game switching Ox or Wilshere depending on opposition for Huddlestone, Sterling for Carrick and a 5-3-2. Cbs are still a problem though.

No but we are slim on the ground in that department because I can only think of Sturridge and maybe Wickham if he starts well this season can play that role, and Carroll is always injured

Was he though? Or was he just shit compared to the inflated expectations we have of him? He did bag a goal and an assist in a campaign in which we only scored twice after all. If he wasn't effective, then who was?

I really like that midfield/attack. But Stones is definetely no RB. And neither him or Shaw are ready yet for International football.

I'd make a phone call to Terry.

    Walker - Terry - Cahill - Baines

    Why would you call Terry?

The qualifiers for the Euros shouldn't be particularly strenuous so why go backwards?

Terry ain't coming back so it is time to move on, and seeing as ball retention is our major weakness we could always try a 352 formation like this which we played under Hoddle

    ------------------------------Hart

    ---------------Stones-------Jones--------Cahil

    -----Walker----Wilshere--Carrick--Henderson--Baines

    -----------------------Barkley

    -----------------------------------Rooney

    or

    -----------------------------Hart

    --------------Stones-------Jones------Cahil

    -------Walker-----Wilshere---Carrick-----Baines

    ---------------------Barkley-------Ox

    ----------------------------Rooney

    Players in 2 years ideally

    .......welveck.......sturridge
    .................barkley
    .......wilshere......hendo
    ...................huddlestone
    Gibbs.....cahill...caulker....chambers
    .....................forrster

Imo hart fell off adcaulker is our only footballing cb prospect, i hope he makes it. Gibbs provides pace n width, unlike baines. Chambers is a great talent too

This team is mobile, has a higher level of passing ability and a mobile front too

Sterling can replace barkley and rooney welbeck if needed and huddlestone is the only dlp ican think of who wont be stupidly old in 2016

Hart has fallen off too, forster is a talented gk

    What about John Stones?

Only 20 years old, not only did he help keep clean sheets for Everton, but he made a massive difference to go us going foward as he can pass the ball out of defence. A few times he was actually taking on midfielders. He has all the confidence, just needs to put on some weight.

The most obvious one's from our U17's injury permitting who could make the step up quiet quickly are Patrick Roberts and Dan Crowley assuming he still wants to play for England, but also there are quite a few out of that group who have the potential to play for England like Ledson, Gomez, Armstrong, Solanke, Rossiter etc etc. As for our U19's James Wilson, RLC. Callum Chambers, should make the step up as well IMO

Rossiter could be massive is Rodgers manages to mould him into that midfield holding role that we need.
