I'm pretty sure, and regardless they got promoted to the top flite so Harkes would be plying his trade in one now.
Right I understand that SPL 1 is fully professional, but the salaries in SPL 1 can be quite low outside of Rangers/Celtic, so I was just curious about SPL 2.
Disaster level low. https://www.statista.com/statistics/788981/average-scottish-premiership-salary-by-team/ Why would someone even go there? To learn the beautiful game I guess.
It’s strange that they don’t get paid so well. In the past there have been yanks at Arbroath in the Championship, and one of my best friends was born, raised and moved back to Arbroath. I’ve visited and it’s a fairly small town. I asked him if he ever runs into the players but apparently they almost never live there or hang out there. If they’re paid so poorly how could they live in bigger cities or afford to go out in the cities exclusively.

1289553595814285313 is not a valid tweet id Hey @bungadiri and @TheFalseNine: the game has kicked off. Harkes is an SPL player. Promotion to the main form is in order
The Tayside derby match ended in a 1-1 draw. Harkes went the distance. Dundee United went up a man in first half stoppage time. For the penalty that lead to Dundee United's goal, which starts the below highlight video, Harkes is played in with a nice through ball. He isn't able to settle the ball in the box but instead lays off to a teammate behind him whose shot is blocked by the defender's hand/arm. Harkes also plays a part in the beginning of the move at :47. At 1:07, Harkes hits a volley into the ground from just inside the box which bounces wide. At 2:38 he makes a nice track back run and wins a header. At 4:42, Harkes makes a run for almost the lenght of the field but then hits a shot at the keeper. Relegated Hearts signed away Dundee United's manager, Robbie Neilson, in June. Their new manager is Micky Mellon who was previously Tranmere Rovers manager since October 2016. Tranmere Rovers were promoted from the National League to League One under his stewardship, though they were relegated back to League Two after the abbreviated 2019/2020 campaign.

1-0 win. Dundee United with 4 points from 2 games to open the season. For a newly promoted team, that's good.
2 points behind Ross County, who have 3 first-team goalkeepers named Ross, and had 4 players named Ross in their squad today.

It sounds weird to say since they spent 4 seasons in the second tier, but this (4th place in the top flight) is sort of where they belong. In the seasons preceding their aberrant 2015-16 that saw them relegated, they finished (reverse order) in: 5th, 4th, 6th, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 5th, 5th. During that stretch, they won the Scottish Cup and made 3 other cup finals, while playing in Europe 3 times. It's good to see them doing well again. Hopefully it continues with Harkes and Powers at the center of it.
