Sweetly hit, outside the boot finish off a corner to take a late lead. Really becoming a hero around those parts.

Field is so wet passes are stopping midway. Harkes managed a touch wide to an open man for a cross on their last minute chance, but after a scramble, Motherwell cleared. Hard fought one.

I didn't realize he got married this summer. His wife, Sarah Teegarden, also played at Wake Forest & has been a starter at Celtic FC.

And she just won the Scottish Women’s Premier League Cup — a 1-0 win over Glasgow City. Sarah also happened to pick up the winning assist whipping in a free kick which was nodded home. Celtic’s first trophy in 11 years. Sarah’s had a great start at Celtic and been instrumental in 3-way battle for the league behind Rangers and Glasgow City.

Both newcomers with big impacts, I’m surprised that CCV and Ramirez aren’t closer to each other in the list. I would expect CCV to be in the 15-20 range like Ramirez. I suspect if you did this list at the end of the season, CCV would be much, much higher. With the season Harkes is having, he will make a sizable jump on the list. Regardless of rankings, all three players are having fabulous and impactful seasons. They should be in contention for Best XI for the season or at the very least the first half of the season.

ASN suggests Ian might be in consideration for a move:

In Scotland, Ian Harkes is a player to watch as he is having his best professional season at Dundee United and probably wouldn’t be that expensive. His EU passport could open doors for smaller clubs on the continent.

    http://www.americansoccernow.com/ar...r-window-which-americans-could-be-on-the-move

Though, AFAIK, he only has a UK passport, which isn't an EU/EEA country any more.

Maybe the author is banking on Scotland leaving the UK and joining the EU. ;) :p

If he were interested in playing on the continent, he wouldn't have slummed it in the Scottish 2nd division originally, after playing significant minutes in MLS.

The doors his passport could open up are in the English Championship I presume, considering he'd count as a domestic.
