I don't mind the Geico ads as much as I do the ones for Capital One. What's in my wallet? Not Capital One, that's for sure.
As much as you want to firebomb them, you have to applaud their marketing department. They are definitely doing there job. Cavemen and speed racer were nice spots.
theyre not as bad as jammster! vagisil has commercials now. i laughed the fist time i saw it because i had no idea what was coming but i hate watching tv and i have to hear about smelling and itching!
I actually think they're cavemen ones are the worst. But I guess the point is they have so many different ones that everyone is going to get tired of the bad ones but still take in the ones they like.
The speedracer one is quite good, the ending makes the entire commercial (blank stare)... However I'm going to have to second the Jammster comment. Those are the worst commercials known to mankind. "FOR RAPPING PANDA TEXT STAR 8-4-5!" "FOR IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME LEMUR TEXT STAR 9-5-3!" "FOR BLING BLING GOPHER ANIME TEXT STAR 5-4-3!"
The Geico commercials are genius. They're so blatantly nonsensical, but they get the point across, and you remember who does them. Considering they really weren't a major car insurance company before this, and now everyone knows who Geico is; you can't say they aren't effective. Second only to those Emerald Nuts commercials that ran for awhile.
There is reason to the madness, of course. They were way behind in market share and brand recognition to the major insurers, but they've bombarded the airwaves targeted pretty much every possible demographics with low budget ads. From an entertainment and creative standpoint, they're awful, but the marketing is genius. And the advertising critic on Slate thinks the Tiny House spot is the best ad on television. The only problem is that they focus so much on price rather than the product, and the gags tend to be lighthearted, they're going to have problems if they ever decide to go after the high end market..
That ad is simply brilliant. I think they are rated as one of the worst insurance agencies as far as customer service, timely claim handling, etc. In reality, it's not very good car insurance, but they've probably kept themselves in business through those ads.
Yes, imagine how much training he had to go through, and how much persuasion was needed before he would do it
I don't mind Geico commercials. I haven't seen the Speed Racer one yet. On the other hand I hate Aflac commercials and want to kill that stupid duck. Capital One commercials, however, are BRILLIANT!
