yup. even though i'd read all about it beforehand, and was essentially looking for it, it wasn't until after van persie'd let it go that i realized, 'oh, wow, that was it'. admittedly, i was watching in a pub with the volume down, so i couldn't hear the whistle, but it looked a shocking call. of course, i think it'd be naive to say that had he stayed on the result would've been different - barca are a wholly different class ... and the arse did not impress on any level. but i certainly can see where gooners are aggrieved. i mean, all it takes is one more and they're through ... and who's to say they wouldn't have gotten it with v persie? oh well. hard luck ... but the better team won. i'm coping nicely, if i'm honest.
They played like Stoke, 11 man defence and relying on a lucky setpiece. If a team lined up like that against Arse then they would be the first ones to whinge about it. They also got two penalties not called against them, one on Messi and one where Pedro played on when he could have gone down. Van Persie dug his own grave by behaving like a petulant tit earlier on in the game. Not a surprise the ref assumed he was wasting time.
I gave up watching Liverpool in Europe a long time ago, they're just incapable of playing good football. Bar far the least entertaining of any Prem side.
Do you remember when loads of people were questioning why Owen Coyle would leave Burnley for Bolton? Bolton into the FA Cup semifinals and 7th in the league.
From chasing 4 trophies to just 1 after a month or so, it requires skill from a club to do that. And Assenal is the only club who possesses such skills to do it year in year out.
Knocked out of 3 trophies in the space of a fortnight If they manage to win the league it will be a travesty, such a poor team.
they're apparently re-signed Jens Lemon. http://c.photoshelter.com/img-get/I00003J5bV8F0lQ4/s/860/860/060517-066-UEFA-CL-Final.jpg
