    OK, I just got an email from Colin (the manager at the Pour House) and the best he can do is put the DCU game on a few smaller tvs downstairs at 3:30 pm and when the Steelers-Browns game is done upstairs, he can switch to the DCU game sometime after 4 pm. Go wherever makes you happiest, just an FYI.

    I don't believe there's a cover at Bailey's (and there isn't at Lucky Bar or Pour House, just buy a beer and some lunch.) They don't want you sitting there for a few hrs nursing a water.

    Are you wearing the kilt (and more importantly, what will you not be wearing underneath...) :p

    The kilt is undecided at this point...

    If I do wear it, you already know the answer

    Use the Metro trip planner here: http://www.wmata.com (plug in your start station) and end the Ballston stop on the Orange line (it's in the Ballston Mall and is a few block walk from the Metro). At street level you can go into the building directly in front of you and go up stairs and use some skywalks to get to the Mall (once there you need to go back down to the main level).

    Here's some other transportation info from the Ballston Common Mall website:
    http://www.ballston-common.com/directions.htm

    Why not change it a little:

    This day is called the feast of Moreno:
    He that outlives this day, and comes safe home,
    Will stand a tip-toe when the day is named,
    And rouse him at the name of Moreno.
    He that shall live this day, and see old age,
    Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
    And say 'To-morrow is Saint Moreno:'
    Then will he strip his sleeve and show his scars.
    And say 'These wounds I had on Jaime's day.'
    Old men forget: yet all shall be forgot,
    But he'll remember with advantages
    What feats he did that day: then shall our names.
    Familiar in his mouth as household words
    Piotr the king, Olsen and Nelsen,
    Eskandarian and Rimando, Petke and Stewart,
    Be in their flowing cups freshly remember'd.
    This story shall the good man teach his son;
    And Jaime Moreno shall ne'er go by,
    From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be remember'd;
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that Ventilates with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition:
    And gentlemen in The Swamp now a-bed
    Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Jaime's day.

    From this day to the ending of the world,
    But we in it shall be remembered-
    We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
    For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
    Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
    This day shall gentle his condition;
    Make him a member of the gentry, even if he is a commoner.
    And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
    Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
    And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
    That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.

    Amen.

    Edit - damn, too slow on the draw. :)

    Bump this thread.

    Should be an awesoem party.

    Ran into a couple DCU fans at hooters last nite, and they are aware and are heading to Baileys on Sunday.

    Was kinda strange that 4 people wearing D.C. United gear happended to end up at hooters for dinner at the same time last nite. Ive seen more DCU gear on bodies just out and about this week than I have all season.

    I'm hopeful that those of us stranded here will mass at Bailey's and keep La Barra roaring in DC while the rest of our family is in LA representing. I know it's the suburbs for some city denizens, but isn't it important to achieve a critical mass for the game? I think Bailey's is our best hope of doing that. Please come, and wear black.

    Looks like we will actually have a decent size turnout, can't wait to celebrate with all of you. This is going to be a Sunday to remember!

    I will be there and so should my buddy Ben. Just everyone please keep in mind that the beer is in glasses and we will be inside a bar so throwing beers into the air when DC scores probably won't be very well reserved by the management. As upsetting as it is, I realize that I will be required to keep my shirt on, and probably have to keep the shouting of obscenities and such to a minimum. Yeah, it ain't going to be the same, but it should still be fun. :D

    I'm coming but I've gotto wear the white away shirt I've been wearing to every game (at home and at the swamp) through the winning streak --- can't change a winning combo.

    I wouldn't want to change that combo either. One question, though. You have washed your kit, haven't you? ;)

    c'ya at Bailey's. Bring it strong (in your case that means high passion as opposed to an irresistable nasal stimulous -- kidding)! ;)

    Hmmm. I had been thinking about watching the quest for the fourth star at either Flanagan's or the Lucky Bar. Is anybody still intending to show up at either of those two establishments? Or is Bailey's going to be whole show?

    I was at the Nudist ranch and ran into some DCU fans with their torso (torsoes) covered with "black-out shirt" tattoos. Looked pretty cool. :p

    Count one more for bailey's

    I know at least one person personally who is going to Flanagans. Everyone else I know is heading to Baileys. I persoanlly prefer LARGE and LOUD gatherings, ESPEICALLY for championship matches.
