My team played stopper/sweeper for about 15 minutes yesterday (We've merged teams and that was what the other team played).

To me, beating it is all about putting passes into the space between the stopper and the outside backs and then having having a mid comedown the outside when the back steps into help cover.

We only stayed tied because my goalie stood on her head.

We ended going to a more traditional 4-4-2 with a midfield diamond and things settled down
