Oh man. I was expecting one of your very informative posts.....but you summed it up quite succinctly and to the point.

Lost in all the Democratic brouhaha was that turnout in the 2016 Democratic caucus was about 2016 pace, whereas Trump's turnout was 31,000. In 2016, he received second place with 24% of the vote IIRC, and had 45,000 caucus-goers vote for him. George W Bush in 2004 did not have an Iowa caucus, but it is the lowest turnout for a GOP caucus since 1992 (which was also not held). Donald Trump wanted to use this caucus as a show of strength and couldn't get 40,000 Republicans to turn out.
That's really unfair lol Trump had no/token opposition recieved 98% of the vote. Turnout is low because the Republican primaries and caucuses this year are a foregone conclusion. Many of them are canceled as a result. The dems should be worried because they cannot even run, count or determine a winner in Iowa when they had 4 years to prepare. Also turnout was not as expected only 171k which matched 2016 not even close to the 240k record of 2008.
Yes but in 2004 Dubya canceled the whole thing instead of worry about them. Trump deliberately ran them to fuel his ego and show his vaunted turnout machine. The Democrats should be worried that 171k people turned out. One can believe the Democrats should be worried, and note that Trump's got a flaccid turnout.
As I pointed out before, that would create problems since New Hampshire has a law that forces the state to move their primary to make sure it is the first in the country (they ignore Iowa because it is a caucus). But hey maybe that would lead to Iowa or NH primaries the day after the last election, who would not want a 4 year presidential primary, (well an official one).
I don't care what New Hampshire says. Their law does not take precedent over another state. Those two piddly little states could fight it out in court.
Democrats still don’t recognize that they’ve been in an all out war for thirty years and they’re losing, and losing badly https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/securi...online-encouragement-disrupt-results-n1131521
A tweet to explain the link above. Because links blow donkeys. Scoop: In a true shocker, the Iowa caucus hotline was posted to 4chan repeatedly on Monday night with directions to “clog the lines”https://t.co/YlbKUlK2Ik— Ben Collins (@oneunderscore__) February 6, 2020
That was precisely the function of the Senate in the first place: to provide said legislatures a voice in the lawmaking at the federal level.
