I, for one, am very happy to have a world of people out there thinking that their country is a better place to live than the US.

People, it is true that the US is a hell-hole of bumpkins zooming from the house to a McDonald's.

Now just stay where you are and wait for us Americans to come and gawk at you in your country of choice.

Er don't say that. We have freedom, and the freedom to choose what way of life we have. Europeans have chosen their way, and Americans have chosen their way.

Does anyone actually read posts in here?

I'm not saying we ought to live under a totalitarian dictatorship - we don't and that's great.

Freedom is good, but freedom needs to be curtailed sometimes for the greater good.

Just repeating myself now - so I'll be off.

If we wanted our freedom to be curtailed, we would curtailed it.

We don't need some know-it-all Eurotrash to do it for us, thank you very much.

    It's ok.

The phrase 'Euro-trash' has suddenly made your posts (both those past and those still to come) strangely pointless to those with a modicum of intelligence.

I'm Euro-trash because I dare to point out some of the failings (on a global scale) of what happens within the US. It's criticism of your 'great' nation, so it's akin to some kind of heresy.

Grow up and accept criticism as a route forwards rather than thinking it as a blistering attack on 'the land of the free and the home of the brave'.

Thats one thing I'v experienced on the internet these past five years. I didn't know America was so perfect, or is that something thats been drilled into them since they were born?

Pointing out "failings" is one thing, saying that other countries should curtail the US' freedom is something else.

Unless I'm mistaken, I've never said anything of the kind.

I'm saying the US should curtail itself. No mention of outside influences.

Yes, as an American you are pretty much told you're entire life how lucky you are to live in "the greatest nation on earth".

Dude, did it ever occur to you before that cigarettes were bad for your health? You didn't realize this until the government took the money out of your wallet? People make dumb decisions all the time, is the government supposed to hold their hand at every turn?
