This year? Overall? For me, I've attended 8 MLS matches this year and 30 overall. This years are: 3/20: Fire vs. CSD Municipal 3/23: Fire @ Columbus 4/14: Fire vs. Milwaukee 4/27: Fire vs. New England 5/19: Fire @ New England 5/26: Fire vs. San Jose 7/20: Fire vs. D.C. United 7/27: Fire vs. New York and I have 3 more in the works for me this year (at least).
1996: 9 1997: 19 1998: 18 1999: 20 2000: 20 2001: 15 2002: 11 Total: 115 Been on a few road trips each year from 1997 on (MLS Cup each year from 1998 on). I'm sure others can do better...
1 game ever...in 1998...used to live in olympia, wa, now i'm in phoenix, looking for some people in the area that would like to take 5-10 roadtrips per year to goto games... PM me...
One. The second game of the USMNT double header last June in Boston. Saw the Revs play. Sucks to live 6 hours from the nearest MLS team.
4 this year, 9 overall 3/20: Fire vs. CSD Municipal 3/23: Fire @ Columbus 5/26: Fire vs. San Jose 7/27: Fire vs. New York
96-99: Zero 2000: about 10 2001: every fusion home game 2002: 1, Crew vs. Fire opener, am going to go to at least 1 more though. 2003 I will be at just about every one.
2 this year Revs v. Fire 5/18 Revs @ WM Pioneers in June probably about 20 overall since 96. "so when are we getting the how far do you travel for your home matches thread?" 1:30 - 2:00 to get to the final road. About five more hours to get to the parking lot.
there was a thread last season, that polled how many miles you traveled one way to a match... if you attended 4 or more matches a year
NONE!!!-... well it is a little dificult to see a Live MLS game when you live in Colombia in south america.....
None this year because the Fusion went bye bye. Previously, I attended every Fusion home match from year 2 to year 4. In year one, I was attending school in Gainesville, but managed to make the opener by driving in the middle of the night after I got off work. I returned to South Florida with about 5 home games left in that season and went to them all.
Every Revs game, including the opener in NY. I've also been to half last year, plus the All-Star game, all of 2000, plus the all important playoff game (in which they beat the Fire) and 3 in 99.
1997-1 1998-10 1999-15 plus MLS Cup 2000-18 (15 at Foxboro 2 in Dc 1 in NY) plus MLS Cup 2001-13 MLS 4 Open Cup including the Final in LA plus MLS Cup 2002-at least 15 this yr total plus MLS Cup plus 7 USMNT game
1997 - 1 1998 - 2 1999 - 2 plus MLS Cup 99 2000 - 4 2001 - 5 2002 - 5 with plans for 2 more including this Saturday vs Chicago and MLS Cup 2002 Austin to Dallas 3 1/2 hours each way with 2 kids under 4. I hate I-35. Let me also say I have been a shootout subscriber since 1997 and bought 2 packages this year.
I have been to all DC United home games, including US Open Cup games & CONCACAF Champions cup games, InterAmerican Cup game & International friendlies (Leeds United, Newcastle, Bayer Leverkusen & Boca Juniors). I have also been to all DC United games in the Meadowlands. And I have been to one DC United game at Columbus Crew Stadium, this year (two weeks ago, because the game was not televised!).
Well, this year is the first year I have been able to attend games. I've been to every Fire home games but three of them this season. I missed the first 0-0 game vs DC (already had plans), the first game against LA (didn't feel like sitting in the rain again...), and the San Jose game due to my sister's grad party. I also attended that pathetic game in Milwaukee for the US Open Cup. In 2001, thanks to my stupid job, I only attended Sting/Power reunion night, and the first playoff game against Dallas. I also attended the MLS Cup game in Columbus. In 2000, I think I attended maybe five games. Again, thanks to work, I couldn't go to more. Jobs ruin lives. In 1999, I attended one game, and 1998 I didn't get to go to any. I was still in college these years, and wasn't in Chicago too much.
Somehow I have managed to make it to every MLS Cup so far.... 1996-MLS Cup-DC-LA....AKA the Monsoon 1997-MLS CUP-DC-COL....Best MLS Cup in my opinion 1998-MLS Cup-Chi-DC...Part of a road trip to Vegas 1999-MLS Cup-DC-LA...Sloppy game on a horrible pitch 2000-MLS Cup-KC-Chi....Good game...Fire fans were great 2001-Col-NE...followed USA-T&T....ended after midnight -Dall-Chi....Waldo won in OT!!!! -Chi-C-bus....Crew piss on the Fire -TB-DC...Pouting after USA-Honduras -MLS Cup-SJ-LA...Great game, Crap atmosphere Sadly, I haven't been able to make down to Columbus or Napierville this year(My 2 closest destinations)......Something always seems to come up...plus, I was pretty much incommunicado for the month of June! I'm definitely aiming to keep my streak alive and make to Foxboro in October!
1996- about 10, and playoffs 1997- all of them at home 1998- all of them but a couple, at home 1999- all of them, including victory over Fire in the best match MLS has ever seen 2000- all but 3 2001- all but 3 2002- I think I've been to all of them at home, plus the Colorado game two weeks ago. the USOC games, I've only been to one. But I'll go tomorrow to watch us beat the Rapids.
1996: 2 games. The first being the Wizards franchise opener against the Rapids. The second being Game 2 of the semifinals against the Galaxy. 1997: 2 1998: 2 1999: 2 Then my work schedule shifted. 2000: Perfect home attendance: 16 regular season games, 4 playoff games, and a roadtrip to DC for MLS Cup. 21 games total. 2001: Missed 1 home game due to being out of town. 1 game was cancelled due to September 11th. So, 12 regular season games and 1 playoff game. 13 total. 2002: Perfect home attendance so far, plus one road trip to DC for the 4/20 match at RFK. 12 total. I project getting perfect home attendance this year and as many playoff games as we get. Total MLS games: 54 and counting Also, I've attended 2 U.S. Open Cup matches the Wizards have played in (both in 2001). 1 Copa Mercanorte match (2001). 2 TFC Champions Cup matches (2002) and I will attend at least one more of those.
2 this year 3 last year 4 the year before that 2 the opening year that makes 11 - all quakes/clash home games probably at least 2 more this year
96....Road trip to Tampa for opener vs. Revs 98-2001...about 95% of all Fusion home games, plus one cross state trip to see them blast the Mutiny 4-0 Bought lots of merchandise, used to 'shoe polish' my car windows with match results and slogans to publicize the team. Used to call the sports radio stations, campaigning for more coverage. Dragged anyone I could to the matches. Now I don't do any of that. Now I don't attend or watch any games. Way to go, schmuckheads (you know who you are). Way to 'grow' !!
