I have Penn getting to the Sweet 16. My Final Four: Illinois Wake Forest Syracuse Villanova Villanova over Illinois in the final game.
Penn and Villanova make it to the finals. The NCAA then decides to move the championship game to the Palestra, where Penn defeats 'Nova and avenges the 1971 upset.
Says the man who has UNC beating Nova....tsk.... I wanted to pick Pitt to go that far, but I couldn't. They can beat anyone and lose to anyone...i can't figure them out.
Ha, changed that up on ya. In my secondary bracket I have Zona Luoisville Nova Ken Ken beats Zona in title game. How about that? Uh yeah.
Penn over BC? You've got to be kidding me. I thought this thread might actually be realistic. Guess I was wrong. Gonzaga to final four
Ouch. I know this was a weak team representing the Ivy League, but still -- the B.C. run from 18-16 to half time was brutal. Oh well...here's to a Penn upset in 2006.
*sigh* I'm glad I got to go... it was special to just be there. We had two whole sections of fans, incluing 50 students-- the guy with the Hot Dog suit was one of them, you might have seen him before-- and Rendell was there. He got a huge ovation when he walked down to his seat. The game sucked and I really don't know what to say about it other than BC shot 7-10 from 3 in the first half and we shot 3-10. How much more is there. Next year I do think we are gonna be really good. Unfortunately we won't be able to play at the Wachovia Center in the first round because we won't be anywhere near a high enough seed. It would actually be in Villanova's interest to play all but one or maybe at the most two games at the WC so that it could qualify for playing its tournament games there. I think you can play up to two games in a venue in a season and it would not be considered a home venue, and the Atlantic 10 is the host. My final four *was* UNC, Illinois, Syracuse and Wake Forest. I am really happy for Tom Brennan-- he definitely deserves this-- but my bracket is screwed. What on earth is Bucknell doing? (It is 47-44 with 10:00 to go in the game as I write this.)
good 2 days of b-ball. i am gonna plant myself on the couch tonight and anticipate the nova game tomorrow...
Yeah... f***ing UConn for blowing it against NC State. Honestly, are all that many people surprised Vermont beat Syracuse? Yeah I had Syracuse in the Final Four but I would say of all the games I had them playing Vermont was the toughest to win, including against Duke.
It's going to be really tough, but if Villanova can somehow confuse UNC with their dynamic defense, they can win. Sumpter's availability will be very important to it all.
Sumpter's done. I have officially entered the Philadelphia fan self pity/loathing stage. Can't one team get it right just one season?
