Croatia have a relatively short history since they became independent in the 90s, and Yugoslavia had good players with a tough mentality while the Portuguese enjoyed their bacalhau and wine too much. Besides the last 2 cups in 1998 they also reached 3rd place in the world cup. They have 3 medals (2 bronze, 1 silver) in a relatively short history compared to Portugal. This was definitely their golden generation especially in midfield. Chalk it down to luck maybe, but they won FOUR PK shootouts in the last 2 cups. It's all about mentality.

Not only did HGH made him taller than he was supposed to be with his genetic limitations, but It made him heal quicker from an injury , and made his body recover quicker from training, and added extra muscle for performance. Probably gave him a shit ton of energy to train with. People on steroids praise on how steroids made them 10 times more motivated to train.
