I feel the need to say "Scotland sucks!" But seeing as how I never saw them play... I'll wait till after the game to Officially say that.

    However...

    It's gonna be ugly people!

I think a lot of Fleeting's goals for Scotland didn't come in official internationals (against teams such as Isle of Man and Isle of Wight, I know she scored 16 in a game against one of them). Comparing her to Mia is ludicrous until Julie proves she can do it against top-notch teams. I think Scotland won their 2003 'B' qualifying group and will play someone for the right to try to qualify for Euro 2005 in the 'A' groups, so they'll play some better competition then if they make it.

I'll go for 6-0, maybe 6-1 if Fleeting does something special. However, USWNT does not have good memories of Columbus - 3-1 loss to Canada in 2000 and all hell breaking loose in the world as they prepared to play Japan in 2001.

But if Fleeting gets triple the chances against awful teams, she's likely to score more goals...

i agree 16 goals in 1 game is ludicrious

that being said she has been nothing but solid in the WUSA so i think she will score 1...

    5-1 US

Anyone remember those games in winter of 2000? Japan, Canada and Mexico? We thought we'd roll right through them then too.

    Bad karma folks.

That's what I've been thinking. The past few years, just about every time the team's supporters think that it will be an easy game, it turns into something else (except for that last game against Mexico...)

That said, I like the 5-1 prediction...

I'm watchin the Burn/MetroStars game and the announcer just said, "The USWNT will have a chance to run up the numbers on Sunday against a grossly overmatched Scotland team."

    WAR USA!!!

That 3-0 win over Finland was ugly. All those shots and only 3 goals?

I have a prediction to make....

Scotland will find religion tomorrow. By Sunday afternoon they will be fully aquainted with the Fear of God!

The weather for tomorrow in Cowlumubs according to the Cowlumbus Dispatch is hot and dry. 92 degrees. This definately favors the much more fit USWNT. Those Scottish lassies will wilt in the heat.
