Did you just use surfeit in a sentence? I think you did. Had to look that one up. Perhaps I need to dial down my optimism, but I the the Dynamo are legit contenders with Rico back in the team.
So I read the Chronicle Blog post on Rico. I think some of our posts here are jumping the gun. It does not sound like the deal is done yet and cannot be done until Cameron's transfer is finalized in a week. That is a lot of time for something to happen.
I was kinda thinking he was the likely prospect in that list. Wasn't he a scoring machine in USL or NASL or whatever league he was playing in for Rennie?
Maybe Rico's long distance blasts have gotten more accurate over the last couple of years. That'd be nice. I remember him scoring a few from outside. He liked to shoot when given the opportunity.
I'm less interested in his offensive capabilities and more in his ability to allow Davis and OBG to play higher up.
Random, but Eddie Johnson sure looks good in Seattle right about now. Was Dom interested in getting him in the allocation if he had the chance to?

Interesting story. It seems credible because it was truthful . . . January window (not right now), no concrete offers, etc. SO it appears we have inquired about his services but will not pull any trigger until we see how he returns from injury. He is a huge scorer at the international level in Africa. 23 goals in around 45 caps or so. Also he has pace and skill but can play withdrawn. Interesting.

Hypothetical question: If it is true that we have agreed terms with Clark, but Cameron does not secure a work permit, what happens next? I bet there is a 90% chance Cameron gets a WP, but just in case, does that mean we get Cameron back and don't get Clark? Could Cameron sign with another club? Would we be stuck with Cameron on the roster and him not playing?
We would have Cameron back and playing - the deal would be nullified. That is why he is still on our roster as the deal is not final until he gets the permit. As for Clark, if Cameron stayed I would imagine we would have to unload a player to sign Clark - which means we would have to trade someone for a draft pick or allocation (since we can't take a player with a salary on if we are trying to dump salary. As to what will actually happen, it is likely we will not sign Clark but maybe trade his rights to another MLS team as I doubt we can unload a player that we would want to get rid of AND get draft picks or Allocation in return (in a short time).
